    Hi BOI

Something you may be able to help with.

From checking my banking online, it appears that I have been charged twice for the same thing (a hotel booking from booking.com).

Once on the 2 Aug and once on the 3rd Aug.

I do not know whether this is simply just showing twice on my online banking or whether I have actually been charged twice.

Is this something that you guys can look into here or should I call instead?

    Thanks,
    Richard

    Hi Richard,

Thanks for contacting us on Boards.ie

While we don't have account access to investigate this here, this duplicate transaction may be what we call shadow posting, which can occur when a retailer cancels or voids a payment after we have authorised it. It can take up to five working days to adjust back to your account.

We would recommend you query this by sending a message when logged into 365 Online through the Online Service Desk and the "Ask a Question" option or by calling BOI Direct on 0818 365 365 or 0035314044000 (8am to midnight Monday to Friday and 9am to 6pm on weekends) for a representative to clarify this for you.

    Thanks,
    Sarah
