    Maybe I need a holiday. :D

I also loved every minute of it. I thought it was brilliant. Classic Lar.
The man is a pure comedic genius.
I just love the way he basically touched on every single cliché taboo subject possible, and made them all funny.
    All in the first episode.
How I have missed him !!!!

Pretty, pretty, pretty disappointed with that last episode.

I have really enjoyed both episodes , all the people complaining I think they just like to complain , curb is back people just lie back and enjoy it !

    Episode 2 was ok.
Didn't have me "lolling" as much as ep1.
We did have the return of Funkhouser though! :D

Just watched it and i don't get what people people are complaining about.

The lefty conversation with Funkhauser and seeing Mary on her date had me in stitches.

So far not great for me, not a patch on some of the older episodes unfortunately.

Really good deleted clip of the fruit with stones bit. 'A fu*ckin' fruit safe?'
Nearly better than anything in that episode.

No more than a B from with the first episode being a B+

  • Registered Users Posts: 488 ✭✭Duggie2012

that second episode was class i thought. back to its best after a poor first episode for me. i laughed all the way through the second episode. leon was very funny in it. "larry there going to cut your fcking feet off and put them in your back pockets and cut your fcking hands off and put them in your front pockets"..ha! soppy johnson...brilliant episode.

Good episode but its still lacking for me. Some of the gags fall flat IMo but maybe Im grading it too hard after previous seasons set the bar so high.

Love Leon and Funkman being back. Leon's ab libbing is fantastic, he always is so quick witted, he steals the show.

I loved the hotel bits and loved the bits with Marty. I didnt like the protection guy whom Leon brought in and the fruit bit, it just felt so unrealistic.

    Second episode is class.
I genuinely laughed from start to finish.
For me , as good as previous few series.

    Here's an interesting fact.

The fake name LD used "Buck Dancer" was also used in The Seinfeld ep "The Mango, in which he used the pseudo name as one of the writers.

I liked this weeks ep, some great lines, Loved the gorgeous Bianca Kajlich's cameo. One gripe wasn't that keen on the security guy storyline, though the conversation with LD cracked me up.

    Leon - "Chappie Johnson That's a black man's name. " I cried laughing.

Loads in that episode to keep me interested but you could see the ending as soon as the laptop was opened.

Is this Fatwa going to be the Arc of this season. It's a bit lame though.

  • Registered Users Posts: 488 ✭✭Duggie2012

    larry: "are you expecting someone"
leon: "im always expecting someone, if they show the fcuk up they show the fcuk up"

leon "my name is chappie johnson and i cant open this jar of pickles"

    ha!!

So disappointed, all the old gags. And this comes from hardcore Seinfeld/Larry David fan. End of an era. For me Larry David isn't a man of integrity any longer.

all the men in the hotel trying to open the jar of pickles was hilarious!

I love curb your enthusiasm but folks were grasping at straws here. Its poor.

Getting back to it's best with the 3rd episode ...classic curb

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,033 ✭✭✭furiousox

I thought it was the weakest episode of the three so far. :(

I thought that was the best episode so far in this season. Its amazing how peoples opinion of curb is so different.

  • Registered Users Posts: 488 ✭✭Duggie2012

the 3rd one wasnt bad but not a patch on the second one. the bit where larry was explaining where his glasses and the missing girl were in his mind was funny. then jeff says where is my cubs hat in all this.....then he moves the missing girl back a step. the restaurant manager was also in the mighty boosh, anyone who watces that will know him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,386 ✭✭✭smuckers

Didn't like the disturbance in the kitchen plot, didn't go anywhere, loved Larry in court though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,033 ✭✭✭furiousox

An improvement on the last episode I thought.
The funeral/fatwah scene was hilarious. :D

Running with The Bulls was quite funny. The funeral scene was great, and loved the conversion Larry had with Leon over the fly on his jeans.

    A few Seinfeld nods

The Funeral hello- The Face Painter
LD and Crantson testing out different chairs, similar to George picking out a chair for the security guy- The Maestro

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,321 ✭✭✭sham69

    another great episode.
    Funeral scene was brilliant.
Any conversation with Leon ends up being hilarious.
    Cranston was quite enjoyable.
Really enjoying the series, don't want it to end.
Even a poor episode is funnier than most things on TV IMO

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,386 ✭✭✭smuckers

Loved Susie getting her revenge on Jeff, and Larry obsessed about arriving to lunch ahead of R Lewis, to get the good seat.

  • Registered Users Posts: 488 ✭✭Duggie2012

that 4th episode was brilliant. when jeff comes in and asks leon to give them a minute and leon says "once i start laughing i'm part of this sh1t"...ha. when he said this i burst out laughing. larry and leon seem so natural together. great stuff. all round a great episode i though. larry's conversation with richard in the restaurant was funny aswell. such a great show.

Every time Funkhouser is on I think 'Little orphan Funkhouser'.
He was on the Norm MacDonald podcast, just as hilarious in real life.

Only as far as E3, an incalculable improvement on the misfiring first 2 imho. A solid 7/10, more like old times.

    It was ok overall.
I enjoyed the "mail person" bit.
The whole thing with the waiter, chef, and the barrier attendant went on a bit too long and got a bit tedious though, I thought.
The "ptsd" battle scene at the end was very funny though.
A few more foul mouthed rants from Suzy would be a welcome addition too!
    Thank you for your service.

1st 4 episodes: reasonably decent curb. Don't understand the people here that say they are terrible or great episodes.

In my opinion, 1st two weren’t great but the last three have been excellent.

Agreed. Slow worrying start, but I've been laughing my ass off the last few episodes.
Actually, once Larry got rid of that stupid disguise, it's been plain sailing IMO.

Definitely the funniest episode so far.

And an accidental text on purpose really is a genius idea :D

Funkhouser and the water, one of the funniest scenes :D

The look on Larry's face when he was getting changed cracked me up.

Episode 6 was definitely my favourite episode of Curb in a long time, in seasons possibly. Even though LD got taken down the usual few pegs by the end of the episode, it was still nice (and necessary) to see him have some good times with his friends and be useful to them and admired by them.

With LD and his friends, I find that the show can go way OTT at times with how often and easily Larry pisses them off, and how they never really get along with Larry. Now, such moments have produced comedy gold in the show, but there are instances when it just feels old, forced and very unreal/avoidable as a situation. Times like that, you wonder why the group are friends with LD in the first place, and why LD bothers with them too. This episode hit the balance just right in that context and it was very refreshing, real even, rather than parody.

LD is the GOAT of course, but Marty Funkhouser is my favourite character in the show by now. His eventual freak-out about the water was great - "It tastes like I am dipping a straw into a frog's butt and am sucking out of it" :pac:

I've only ever seen the actor on Curb, but I must have a look and see what else he's in.

I did like the double stare down too.

Was that the first of the series or was there another one that I’m blanking on at the moment?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,383 ✭✭✭S.M.B.

Pretty sure there was a stare down a few episodes ago. I felt the scene was overly familiar to really enjoy it.

I like the stare, the double stare this week was a nice new take. It's not that I'm in stitches looking at LD do it, at this stage it is just a very familiar, welcome mannerism of the character. As running jokes go, I don't mind it at all. Also, I feel we're due a 'Prittay...prittay...prit-tay' soon :)

The one criticism I have of this excellent episode - The conclusion of the scene in the changing room with Lewis' honey girlfriend female acquaintance. The use of unintentional erections/pants tents which cause an awkward situation for LD is a long jaded plot device by now. For me anyway. Even though the one in the latest episode was a call back to the first ever episode of Curb, it just feels lazy and rehashed at this point.

The bit with the spritzer girl at the department store had me in tears laughing and it was just a split second.

Loved ep 6, the accidental text in purpose was very Seinfeldian, lots of funny scenes.

    Funk's gf was a psycho :)

He used be a regular on the Letterman show as fake stuntman 'Super Dave Osbourne' basically the same deadpan character as Funkhouser.....the chemistry between the 2 was very funny

Don't recall seeing him anywhere else
