Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So then Spurs v Man City, do we want a home win, draw or away win (obviously with many red cards and a few knocks)

Spurs win would bring them level with City on 18 points and so compress the points spread within the race for the title/Top 4 on the other hand City winning would put them 5 points clear of us and 7 ahead of Spurs who would therefore stay third, obviously a draw damages both a bit and Spurs would stay third.

    Okay it's a draw please :)

Sorry, pedant in me has to point out that Spurs are 4 behind City, not 3, so can't go level with them today. There are positives in every result. I personally reckon in order of what I'd like to see happen:

    1. Draw
    2. City win
    3. Spurs win

I'm really funking utd getting someone sent off today (de Gea or Ibrahimovic please), but it'll probably turn out to be a comfortable 3-0 home win with no drama, despite it being scoreless at the minute.

Also, Glenn Hoddle is another of the "personally I don't like zonal marking" lads that always seem to be employed as match analysts. Strange how as coaches they are all out of work though, I can't quite work that one out.

    Idiots.

Taking Yokes and then posting pictures of your distorted face at 3am on Snapchat I hope Klopp isn't told about this one!

Liverpool v Ipswich Town (away) in the Premier League Cup. 1 PM KO

#LFC U23s lineup vs Ipswich Town: Kelleher, Arnold, Randall, Ilori, Sakho, Stewart, Wilson, Chirivella, Ings, Ejaria, Woodburn

Very strong line up and Ings has just scored, it's not on the tellybox anywhere

ive a feeling 2 or 3 of the top 4 positions in the league this year will have a record points total for that position.. gonna be some fight for them

Agreed. He looks so assured already, and some of his players have dramatically turned around their form. Need that bubble to burst before they build freight train momentum.

I'm struggling more with what the result should be here.

Liverpool out for 5 wins in a row in league, United need a win next league game.
We play each other, it's a big game. We can open a gap, or that gap can be closed.
A win is a 6pt lead over a rival for 4th, a loss and we are level on points.
    HUGE GAME

Swansea had tough start, played Liverpool, City, Chelsea, Leicester ,Southampton last 5 games. It makes our start excellent as we too have played tough games.
Swansea manager victim of fixture list.

I'd have 'both teams lose' slightly ahead of a Spurs win.

That's why a draw would be the optimum result. I wouldn't be getting that far ahead of myself though.

We don't have to worry about Spurs as long as we finish ahead of Arsenal that means we finished ahead of Spurs.

I honestly think that we're competing with Spurs for a top four position, so I'd rather a City win.

LOL there would be about two posters left on Boards soccer forum if it opened now everyone would be banned :D

The meltdowns would be epic though.

How long does the thread stay open after we win I wonder. :P

I don't want to talk about today's game too much in this thread. I think in the interests of being mature, reasonable and fair, it should be said that it can be really hard to play relegation candidates... but that didn't seem to bother Stoke, so fair play.

Yep, definitely. I'd rather see Spurs lose momentum than City at this point.

No chance. If it was opened it would be closed as soon as seen by a mod. What will happen (As with the last few times) is that a few days beforehand a mod will create a thread with a multitude of warnings, then lock it until the morning of the game, or possibly afternoon since it is an 8pm kickoff.

I'm looking forward to it though, should be an amazing atmosphere, hopefully we can keep our momentum/form going.

Look at man city and our goals scored & conceded stats over the season and come back to us in May.

Well after just having a quick look at the last 6 years of PL tables and 3 times the teams with the best defence won the league and 3 times the team with the best defence did not win the league. So like I said it is more about scoring more goals than each team you are playing each week but yeah we haven't kept a clean sheet all season, would be nice.
