This is very very sloppy , just hope we can get to ht without conceding

Wijnaldum & Lallana huge losses from the first 11.

As flat a half of football I've seen under klopp, we looked well off the pace by and large. Hopefully an improvement will be made in the second half.

Lallana's energy and movement is hugely missing from the attack.

Id put him on now instead of Sturridge

Dismal half of non football, Mourinho will be happy with it though.

Coutinho is too deep, Can is rusty as a tin can, Sturridge simply doesn't suit what Klopp wants. Firmino a bit sloppy/wasteful and so on.

Gerrard, Suarez and Agger all at the game.

Kinda surprised Barca have let Suarez over with there game against City on Wednesday.

He's probably just a few hours before the team get there.

    Or is it at home?

Summed up perfectly, hopefully now a few changes and we be coming out firing, see Klopp running ahead of Mourinho down the tunnel to the dressing room?

Hopefully he will put the wind up them in there...

Having to change and break up the exciting and attacking front 3 of Mane, Firmino & Coutinho because of injury really does hurt our attack.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,731 ✭✭✭✭AndyBoBandy

What a terrible half of football, which I guess can happen in these games!!
I just hope we don't rue all this wastefulness!!

Dreadful first 30 mins. Couldn't stop giving the ball away even under little pressure. Missed Lallana as Can looks very rusty. In fairness he did improve for the last 15 along with everyone else. Game is very sloppy and broken up though which suits Mourinho ball.

It's not like we're just ****e. Utd's gameplan is to make this difficult for us.

Everyone looks better when there's lots of space.

Better teams than us struggle against this kind of setup.

Good to get into the game a bit. We're still the ones taking the initiative. I'd be worried if it was the other way around.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,983 ✭✭✭✭NukaCola

Bit sloppy but it's ok......Sturridge getting no service and nothing really happening in the final third.....we still look solid enough, its a bit of a weird game so far but need to get up the gears if we want to win or be stung from a set piece. Lallana and Wij are missed I would say, build up play seems much slower without them....

Not delighted but absolutely fine with being 0-0 at HT knowing we can up our game a lot.....not sure if United can, they've been quite good at closing us down and pushing high up but they look leggy already.

West Brom will play much the same way on Saturday except play less football. We've quietened the crowd more than they have.

Important not to panic, draw is no disaster. They've come for a draw, don't hand them 3 points.

    Fuxk sake get Mignolet back

I'm reluctant to say it, but Sturridge just doesn't really fit here. Would gladly swap him for a semi fit Lallana and push Firmino up top.

We've no reliable outlet with him on current form.

47th minute, it was crying out for him to time a sprint towards the 6 yard box, and he touched the brakes instead of the accelerator. He's not willing to risk his body at all anymore. Not sure how much longer that can be accommodated.

We are such a better team without Sturridge.

    It's like flicking a switch!

Sturridge is probably off in the summer. He just doesn't fit as a starter and he sure doesn't want to be a sub.

Ings & Origi both deserve a chance going forward.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Not a great performance against a side that just wanted to make it a scappy fight but we had 3 of the best 4 chances in the end. Take the point and move on.

We kept a clean sheet at least for Linda.

Well that was rubbish stuff all round. Clean sheet though!

17 pts from 8 games, happy out.
    Clean sheet too :)

The pressing doesn't work against a parked bus so hopefully not too many teams are as successful as Utd were tonight when employing that tactic
Klopp doesn't seem to have a plan B.

    .....
Sturridge is probably off in the summer. .....

    Quite likely.
I'll wish him well, Klopp will replace him with an energetic #10 no doubt :D

Karius' passing isn't much better than Mignolet's. Very disappointed with that.
Sturridge was awful and Can, Henderson & Mane weren't much better

    A clean sheet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At least we responded in the second half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,006 ✭✭✭xabi

    Better 2nd half, but meh...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,775 ✭✭✭✭Gbear

I suppose we shouldn't be surprised at how cowardly a performance that was by the ref after the waffle about him before the match.

He could have done little more to play into Utd's hands.

I was wondering if he'd just forgotten to bring his cards with him when he eventually booked Bailly in a token gesture designed the hide the fact he wanted to have nothing more than a quiet monday evening.

Utd had carte blanche to piss about, disrupt play and foul us up and down the place because of how spineless he was.
That kind of reffing will always hamper the team trying to play and massively favour the ones with absolutely no ambition.

As soon as we got Lallana on we were a different team. There's positives to take and a draw isn't an awful result. If not for two wonder saves we'd have won. Shows how important the double pivot in midfield is. Can was very rusty. Hopefully Lalanna and is good to go now and Gigi gets back soon.

Much better with Lallana on.......not a good sign for Sturridge.....

Jeez i despise Henderson. Rubbish. Milner for captain, plays his heart out and tough as nuts. Kinda ha

    Awful match.

Hard to break down that Utd defence.

De Gea made two great saves.

Mourinho plays horrible football, lost all respect for him.

    We kept a clean sheet.

For what??? You think Mig can pass the ball around the back like that? Apart from one mistake, I don't think Klarius did anything wrong.

Can played well I thought......rusty but decent enough...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,056 ✭✭✭SuperTortoise

We were stifled really, and we also looked very nervous all game.
Can very rusty which is to be expected i suppose, De gea with another MOTM performance against us but to be fair 0-0 was a fair result.

Thought Coutinho was very good tonight playing further back.

    See people criticising Karius now.

Karius, Mignolet, Bogden, Jones, Reina all criticised over the last 6 years.

Common denominator goalkeeping coach John Achterberg.

Plus it was his first big game too!

I guess United are the better team so, they only wanted a draw sure.

Karius distribution is woeful. More than once he passed out to a marked defender.

Mane was man marked out of the game. I thought Henderson was ok. Can had a few moments but really the game changed for the better when Sturridge went off.

The only real positive is the back four never looked flustered and I thought they looked in control except for Fellani header near the end.

Clean sheet and unbeaten at home this season.

Not much to add other than that.

Karius and Moreno in a back 5 wouldn't do much for the ould nerves.

Some ****e alright. Not happy with a draw. Lallana not starting was the difference for us. Mourinho came for a draw. What's the point in spending over £150m and playing like that? Then again, he's happy with the draw.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,983 ✭✭✭✭NukaCola

Henderson is the problem not Sturridge!

Your the problem not Henderson! :pac:

Seriously though, I dont even want to know how you came to that conclusion.....
