Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hopefully then it's to take over from that former Newcastle utd player who is the club's international ambassador.

Wijnaldum probably only one who could be starting Saturday. Strong bench if things need turning around

Origi tends to do well in this comp. Needs to put in a performance to try and regain last season's sharpness

Was hoping to see Ings over Origi

The utter nonsense about having to find a coaching role for club legends narks me. Love Gerrad, love what he did for us but has he started his coaching badges? And even if he has, we're at the higher echelons of the coaching tree - there's no way he should (nor will he) be fast-tracked into a senior coaching role.

He is doing his A licence I think, looking to do his Pro licence after that.

Ian Rush> Why would we need to replace him?

Are you suggesting we lose a load of matches just to make Kerrigooney's joke work? You absolute savage.

But I respect your commitment to the art of the shîtpost. You'll go far.

I know I've said it before and I'll probably curse him for the 2nd half, but I really like Kevin Stewart in midfield. Always impressive if not unspectacular. He's not extraordinary or world class, but he's a damn fine, solid player that does the job asked of him expertly.

Sturridge looks about 32 out there

Hard to believe he's only 27

So it works for Sturridge as well as Coutinho? Say bad things about more Liverpool players during matches please.

Lots of positives from tonight, I'd say Klopp is delighted, especially in the second half.

All I've seen from that is that Moreno isn't going to get any better. 86 minutes gone, we're 2-1 up and the young Spurs lad gets a chest in the box on the wing just as Moreno gets back into his own half.

Great performances from Mignolet Origi and Sturridge.

I think TAA and Ejaria acquitted themselves well, TAA in the first half and Ejaria in the second. Ings was a bit rusty but Sturridge could and should have had 4 at least. Origi had a good game as well with Gini Wiji keeping things ticking over and the first team got a rest so all is well.

I thought Lucas, Stewart and Wijnaldum were fantastic tonight!

Moreno looked great for the first hour of that match but he went back to his old ways shortly after.

Should we play him More? No.

Moreno should not play in the first team again, hope we get another LB in January as support to Milner.

Moreno just can't be trusted. He was very lucky not to have had a penalty against him.

If Souness rates you as a young center mid for Liverpool then you know you have something special.

    Ejaria is boss.

Moreno I thought played very well. The penalty appeal was no penalty.
Origi was on fire in the 2nd half. Sturridge played very well too 8 shots 6 on target is excellent even though he missed 2 easy chances.
Trent AA lis a great prospect only just turned 18 & Ejaria grew into the game.

My description after the first half, it appears I was underrating him. He was excellent tonight.

Sturridge the league cup "main man".

    Stewart was fantastic

I'd have no worries of him if he had to get a run of games there due to injuries.

Unlike your namesake (ish), who at 31 looks about 40 out there these days. ;)

His penalty incident was a bigger penalty should than that was actually given.

He's a walking time=bomb that's often likely to do something rash and he did it again tonight, stupid tackle in the box with the game at 2-1.

And 40 is being generous really.

Why does redknapp keep saying sturridge is thinking "firmino should've been playing tonight"?

Just seems odd thing to point out

Nobody played poorly, Ejara looked a bit raw but did fine. Stewart did really well.

Origi looked sharp and Ings did well when he came on. Bit dodgy at the back at times but enjoyable match to watch.

We'll probably get the Manchester club in the quarters.
