Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Excellent stuff so far, we're so fookin fluid and sexy when attacking, top of the league here we come (hopefully)

Can't believe Lucas missed though, he's usually so clinical in those situations ;)

Hard to believe Lucas was bought as an attacking midfielder.

Ha yeah very true! Would have loved him to score, I'd say Klopp and a few of the others would have got a good laugh out of it.

He's playing well overall apart from one slight mishap with trying to play offside.

    Then again, everyone's playing well!

Just a quick reminder, for those who only show up on match day.

MOTD is on at 10.30pm on BBC2.

That's half past ten tonight on BBC2.

The leagues top goal scorers despite never playing the supposedly best player at the club and*England's most naturally gifted striker as the media keep telling us.

*I'm sure Harry Kane would dispute that.

I dunno, the football is magnificent, the movement is sublime. Surely that's what's needed to be celebrated here rather than barbs at our still genuinely gifted centre forward.

    And there's four!

No barb that's what I am celebrating that we don't need a player of that undoubted skill to play sexy total football.

    And there's five!

How much Coutinho has improved over the past two years is frightening.

Top of the league...have we lost anyone to a dubious decision yet?

    That was sexy

Have to laugh at the commentators suggesting our title credentials are damaged by a goal conceded when we're 5-0 up. I'm not saying we'll win the league, far too early to assume, but we're undoubtedly a contender.

Hate international breaks but being top of the league will more than make up for it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,187 ✭✭✭mosstin

Goals pay the rent and Firmino/Coutinho/Mané do their share.

I am perfectly happy to be talked down at this stage of the season.

Most important aspect of this weekend is the 10 goal swing on Everton, no?

Apart from the blip at Burnley cant think of the last team who actually looked like beating us.......Spurs maybe?

Cracking result, really enjoyed that. Great performance, would have loved the clean sheet but I'll be happy enough to concede if we score 6 each week.

Coutinho has really upped the ante this season. Always capable of magic, he's so consistent now which is great to see.

Mané and Lallana absolutely brilliant too, i thought.

Can't really fault anyone actually - Karius looked much, much better today. Few good saves and a few good punches from crosses.

Top of the league for the international break - can't have any complaints!

Not a chance. We were the better team there for 65-70 minutes. Was reading some '10 games into the season' review where they interviewed fans about how they felt they've started the season - Spurs fan felt that they were blessed to draw with us at WHL.

Good goal chalked off that day should have been 2 nil up.

Lovely win. Pressure was on to win after the Arsenal game and we lived up to it.

    Great stuff

Yea, true enough......probably came the closest to actually turning us over though IMO, as undeservedly as it would have been....

Thought they were lucky to get away with a draw, despite us not being at our current level.

    We're most assuredly not clinical.

We do, however, create so many chances that it doesn't matter.

It's not just the number of chances, but the quality of them as well. The buildup play is astonishing.

But that bit of quality in front of goal that Sturridge showed when he came on is another matter. Or it would've been if he'd actually scored them. I can't see that continuing though.
He's too damn good to not have scored a league goal and he's come incredibly close several times.
It's just a pity that he looks like an over the hill top-class striker rather than one who's ready to come straight into the team.

As it happens, we're starting to get goals from set pieces, which is one of the other ways to pull goals out of your arse that gets past tough defences. It might be that that's all we need to get us through tricky ties where it's not happening for the front three.

Countinho better than Bale or Pogba
Needs to be a world record price if he leaves.

I had three small bets today. All scorecasts.

    Liverpool 3-1, Mane score first.
    Liverpool 4-1, Mane score first.
    Liverpool 5-1, Mane score first.

He's far from over the hill, he quite likely won't play for us much longer but wherever he goes next he'll play and score loads barring injury.

What he showed in the 20 mins when he came on would be enough to warrant starting in 15+ of the other PL teams.

Costa wouldn't get into our team with the system we play.

.......... anyway 26 pts after 11 PL games, 2.36 ppg......... roast potatoes inspiring stuff :)

Err lads, did ye not get the memo for the weekend or something?
It's supposed to be Chelsea's turn at the top spot. Jeesh!
It'll be after the international break now before were back in the driving seat.
    #FFS...!

Thanks man, just a flying visit though, still got a lot of stuff going on.

As for those two guys, nobody cares what they think...at least half of them will rage quit when we lose a game. :pac:

I'd be fine with Chelsea finishing second, hard not to like a manager like Conte. No higher than second though.

The agent C and/or alonso will rage quit?
    What's that about?

Yea, clinical might not be the correct word but in terms of goals scored we are clinical enough.....I wont get into the semantics of it but we are top scorers in the league and while we dont score in every attack, who does?

So Payet's made some comments about keeping his options open come January, can't blame him he's far too good for West Ham. If Klopp is in fact looking for another attacker then I know exactly who I want.

We don't recruit like that though. I'd love Payet too but it will never happen.

How's his work rate?, classy player like, but he best be able to bust his bollox for 90 minutes.

Danny looked sharp enough when he came on.....could have had a few also, thought he done quite well.
Karius also had a good game but wasn't really tested, same with Lucas at CB.
