Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I don't care if Barca are a week behind in their prep. There are brilliant signs here.

We dicked Dortmund in the game before the start of the season before last.

We'll need more intensity, more quality... more everything next weekend.

Get in a LB and a defensive midfielder and we can challenge for the title.

    3-0.

Barcelona clearly behind on the training/season prep curve.

Ian Darke was saying on commentary they only flew in to London this morning, hardly ideal preparation.

AIG will be in soon to tell us why it's not really 3-0 and Barca are actually winning so don't get too carried away lads.

Only if he'll play left back. Origi is the main man up top ;)

    We're losing the pivot competition.

Barca dicked on Leicester last week. They can't be that rusty. This is a good performance.

We'll of course want more next weekend. Goes without saying.

Thumping Barca is a pretty good way to start new thread :D

Can't say I've noticed many myself. A good one of klopp's glasses and a kid holding a "come home Luis" poster has been the highlight so far for me

I like the way Mané runs.

It's not pure pace. He has a fair bit of momentum to go along with it and it's like there's an invisible wall around him that pushes players away.

Sure if you look at the way he's built, that upper body strength is clearly paying dividends.

also missing Iniesta, Rakitic, Alba, Neymar and Pique as well as playing with Mathieu which is a hindrance.

But I thought the first half was decent, should've gone in level at least with Messi's chance and Suarez's two chances. First twenty minutes of the second half have been horrendous.

Speaking of Suarez inevitably coming back to us by the end of next week, I really think pre-season friendlies should have more at stake, make it a game of pink slips. Winner gets the other team's Uruguayan number 9.

Sure it only leaves Barcelona, PSG and Hull as the teams who could lose players, but I don't make the rules.

Don't get the reference but yeah, why not. Sounds like a nice place and not at all dangerous.

Not as big of an issue when you actually have some outlets out wide.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,468 ✭✭✭corcaigh07

How badly did we need Mane? He is giving us an avenue we didn't have last season.

Klavan is looking very steady too. Not sure if Sahko gets into this team.

Like what I've seen of Klavan so far. Thought he might be a bit-piece player this season but could play a lot more than first thought. Especially as a left footed CB.

We look fit and sharp anyway

He looks very composed. Have seen him start three games now and im impressed. Lovren and Klavan look a good pairing.

Nearly a brilliant individual goal by Mane. Tackling wasn't the best mind.

    Not really involved.

For me his current place in the squad is backup who'll come in to plug the odd dropoff in goals we'll get from the team over the course of the year.

Very much behind Lallana, Mane, Coutinho, Firmino, Can and Hendo for the 5 behind the striker as things stand in my eyes, but he offers different things to some so depending on fitness, who we're playing and ups and down in form, I'm sure he'll see plenty of time on the pitch despite that.

All away though, so perfect for his counter-attacking.

Suarez walking off the pitch for Barcelona presumably for the last time...

And straight on the train to Lime Street Station.

Don't agree with this, he has been bought as a first team player and will be more involved in the season ahead than you make out.

Doesn't matter. Liverpool definitely going to win the league this year. Might as well give us the title now.

Whether or not that was the intention, I don't as of yet think he's better than any of the options I mentioned so i don't see any other way it's going to be.
