Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Possible Lineups:

Leicester XI: Schmeichel; Simpson, Huth, Morgan, Fuchs; Albrighton, Drinkwater, King, Mahrez; Ulloa, Vardy

Man United XI: De Gea; Valencia, Bailly, Blind, Shaw; Herrera, Carrick; Rashford, Rooney, Martial; Ibrahimovic

Jose Mourinho: "I think especially for the players that were involved in last season, it must have a meaning. To play in the Community Shield, you need to be champion or you need to win the FA Cup, and they won the FA Cup. Of course, we are going to try to win it."

Claudio Ranieri: "This is not a friendly. We will give the maximum and also Manchester Untied will too. Both teams want to win it. All managers and players want to play at Wembley Stadium. It’s one of the most famous stadiums in the world.

"We've lots of respect for everybody, but we want to beat everybody."

1-0 Leicester, Mahrez to sign a new contract on the halfway line after scoring the winner. Leicester go on to do a historic quadruple.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

6-0 United.. Paul Pogba to parachute in at half time, come on for the second half score 4 and assist 2 others

Hopefully the first silverware in the dynasty of the special one

If not I didn't want us to win it anyway

By all accounts United have done nothing in pre-season to suggest they are any better than last season. Think it will be 0-0 and be decided on pens.

Leicester to win it 1-0 and then go on to fail to defend the title

United aren't fit enough yet I think. Leicester to win.

It's like a mighty ducks film, united will look useless early season before reigning supreme in May under coach Jose!

A true underdog story. The little club that could, showing fight and courage* in the face of adversity.

*the courage to spend e100m on one player

  • Would like to say Leicester pretty much have near identical line-up to last season.
    Mahrez & Vardy still intact.
And everyone said they would loose all the best players. Bar Kante but still.
They have extended alot of contracts and have added a couple of really good transfers. I would consider the squad much stronger than last year.
    I'm impressed.

The Community Shield is a waste of time.

Although its a good day out for the Leicester fans who dont get to go to Wembley much.

Why is it a waste of time? The teams would be playing a pre-season friendly anyway. It's nice to have a game with a bit of silverware in store. Gets you all geared up for the season!

How is it a waste of time ? its firstly an opportunity for the two teams to fit in another 90 minutes before the start of the season proper in what has historicially been a more competitive fixture then any pre season friendly. Prestige of the League winners vs Cup winners and again historicially usually an entertaining and more then competitive fixture. To be honest your contribution to the thread is somewhat disappointing and a waste of time. I for one will be enjoying it.

    Rooney has gone to shíte.

He'll probably score now, but still. It's kinda sad to see him so far off the pace.
