    Hi..
Just back from my holidays to find my normally healthy hydrangea look in bad shape..lots of dead heads and darker leaves, some with a white coating on leaves.
Now they do tend to bloom early but don't die off at this stage..
    Any ideas?thanks

Looks like some fungal growth is killing the older flower heads. Deadheading the flowers that have been affected could encourage the disease free ones to grow more. Getting rid of contaminated old growth and improving ventilation should help.

It's a powdery mildew. Collect the affected leaves and flowers and burn. A spray of very dilute vinegar OR bleach should help.
