Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Only turned on at 40 mins, has the atmosphere been that quiet all game?

Most 12.30 kick offs are the same unless its a derby.

True, this one just seems stark for some reason. Even had the missus comment on it!

Nice touch by Costa and Hazard in their celebrations to Willian.

Leicester are just not at it at all, the defence has been exposed and Raniari is making some odd choices.

In fairness they were never going to close to what they achieved last year.

I thought at the start of the season that mid table would be a really good season for them.

When was the last time (before today) a WM formation was played from the beginning of a Premier League game?

Pep used it at Bayern on a semi-regular basis.

    City have a pen saved.

Very weak pen from De Bruyne.

Absolute brainless pen to give away.

    Missed though

    Aguero missed peno...again.

Jesus City must be on record to break the amount of penalties received in a season. And the amount missed.

Man city are due another penalty, it's been over 5 minutes

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 40,061 ✭✭✭✭Harry Palmr

Last season Man City failed to convert 3 of 8 this season they've missed on 4 of 6 so far.

Did anyone mention Mike Phelan is the official manager of Hull? :) 5-1 down

    West Brom scores

City will most likely have more penalties over the course of the season.
In the games we're seen so far, they have more possession than their opponents, and are in the last final third more than their opponents.

Even today, they have more than two thirds of the ball. Its just common sense that they will get more penos. They have the ball in their opponent's box quite often

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,932 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

That was some acting from Barry, took the shoulder, had a think for a moment, then slowly crawled to the floor as if he'd been knocked down.

Haha desperation from Pep putting Kompany up front.

I'm sure we'll be told it's tactical genius though.

Revolutionary stuff from the Man city manager to stick a big man up front and lump it in to him.

No wonder England are struggling to find a decent manager when you see the stoneage tactics being used. Coaches in england really could learn from some foreign coaches who'd never resort to such basic tactics.

    Speaking of outdated things...

Btw you'd swear Pique or Boateng were never occasionally sent up front when the situation required. Some people must not be watching the manager they criticise so much very closely at all.

Oh no , I've seen Pique and Boateng go up front like that, it's just that from perusing through the internet I got the distinct impression that certain Catalan mangers influenced by the teachings of Cryuff were purists of the game and would never sully themselves by resorting to such bogman football.

De Bruyne was a joy to watch in that game, stunning player. He'll be kicking himself over the penalty though, as will Aguero who really needs to get his sh*t together from the spot. He used to be a dead cert from there up until recently.

I thought De Bruyne had an awful game. Only watched 70 mins though.

City wern't great there but they really still should've won that.

You cannot go around missing penalty after penalty. Shouldn't have sold Jimmy Milner.:P

DeBruyne was just OK, but anyone listening to Carragher would think he was the greatest thing ever.

Ridiculously harsh red card for Cresswell. First yellow was ridiculous as it wasn't a dive, second one was harsh in it's own right but at least you can see the logic for it.
