Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

West Ham win! Benteke missing a one on one from 12 yards was less surprising

City wern't great there but they really still should've won that.

You cannot go around missing penalty after penalty. Shouldn't have sold Jimmy Milner.:P

    Didn't sell him ;)

It's a 90+ mins game but if it were a 45+ min game Bournemouth would be third in the table on 14 points.

They've spent a fortune over the last couple of seasons mind. That seems to get overlooked.

Last season they spent a fair sum alright, this season they spent a bit but got some of it back through selling Richie. I would have said they've spent around the norm for a Premier League club in this day and age.

We do love alternative tables! When Chris Coleman (?) was Fulham manager one point in the season they went down they were top 3 until the last 15 mins of games. So Fulham never worked out how to see out a game but if Howe can sort out late fatigue and loss of concentration they could flourish.

Some of the worst and most cowardly refereeing you're likely to see from Roger East there.

Bang on Mate, what is going on with refereeing in the PL. Fellas getting sent off for nothing one week and then this, where is the so called consistency, Watford robbed.

    Sorry lads,

Not sure where else to ask this, but does anyone know the dates for when Sky will be showing Friday night football games? I know that only up until January has been announced so far, but wondering if there's set dates for what weekends there will be a Friday night game.

Want to book a trip but not sure if I need to book the Friday afternoon just in case!

This Bournemouth Spurs game is like 22 players on speed. No finesse or skill just pace and unbelievable levels of fitness. The English game isn't exactly subtle.

Haven't got a clue; it looks worser and worser (!) the more you see it. Aguero got a 3 game ban for a similar offence against West Ham. Let's see what the PL do about Sissoko.

Sissoko will get a 3 match ban in retrospect for that. Good point for Cherries and all the others teams in and around the Top 4.

Edit - Artur has just saved Sissoko in his post match interview.

Lamela should have been off before that for a second yellow, Spurs got away with one

Not sure Arter's comments will save Sissoko. The video footage doesn't look good for the Spurs player.

Sky show all the latest results on a scrolling bar to then advertise match choice. Probably shouldn't have shown the results if enticing people to watch something that looks like it could be shown in 5/10 minutes.

    A great story really.

Especially if you own the club. They even sell their managers.

They have some academy and scouting network and it must be said their last 2 managerial appointments have been top class and it looks like the current one will probably do well too.

Watford facing a possible points deduction for forging bank letters during their takeover

    Forging bank letters?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,594 ✭✭✭✭Trigger

    Chelsea
    From the BBC:
Watford are being investigated by the Football League for allegedly supplying false financial information.

The Telegraph newspaper claims it has obtained a forged bank letter submitted when Gino Pozzo became the Hornets owner before the 2014-15 campaign.

Watford won Premier League promotion that season, and could have points deducted or be fined if they are found to be at fault.

Watford said they are carrying out an internal investigation.

An EFL spokesman confirmed it had started an investigation into "serious allegations" and had contacted the club after receiving information from the newspaper.

He said Watford had been asked to "provide a full and detailed response to the allegations".

The Telegraph claims the "fabricated" document shows that the holding company which owns Watford - Hornets Investment Ltd - had enough money to be issued a bank guarantee of up to £7m and therefore allow Italian Pozzo to take control of the club.

The newspaper says there is no indication that Pozzo himself knew that the letter had been obtained or submitted on his behalf.

In a statement, Watford said it had "no prior knowledge of any concerns about the authenticity of the document" and that more than £20m had been invested in the club since the takeover.

It said the club "takes this matter extremely seriously" and would report back to the EFL next month.

Id say it would be more likely a huge fine than a points deduction at this stage.. As if there is a points deduction it would have to come into effect from the season they won promotion or else the FA/FL will open themselves up to having legal challenges being brought forward by teams that could have benefited at that time.

I'm really shocked that an Italian who owns a football club would be so dodgy, if you can't trust one of them who can you trust.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,224 ✭✭✭✭SantryRed

The Pozzo family are loaded. This is a complete non issue and there isn't a hope in hell that any points deduction will occur.

It looks as if it's a lone agent rather than a complete club thing. The fact that 20m has been invested by them since shows this. They may get fined but it's not the massive scandal the Telegraph badly want it to be.
