Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Nice from Sanchez to sneak around his man,

Far too easy though, terrible from a flat footed Kone.

    Manchester United
In fairness to Moyes, I don't think he's lost the dressing room ... yet.
Khazri's final ball is awful though.

Chasing a goal with Anichebe to come on? D'oh. Defoe needs someone to help him up front though, Big Vic might be that man.

Sunderland are poor. But you can see the negativity Moyes has swept through the club though. Many of these players were very good in the 2nd half of last season under Allardyce.

I think even at this stage big Sam wouldn't save them. 2 points from 10 games is a disgrace

I see Alan Smith has taken up the mantle of "made up conversations" between footballers from Andy Gray.

    Ugh Arsenal.
Could it have been a red too?

Don't think Watmore would have got on the end of the ball.

Nah, Koscielny was covering him, imo.

Alan Smith shouldn't be allowed to commentate on Arsenal games. He's absolutely blind when it comes to them.

Don't the new rules state that a tackle like that is a yellow card once inside the box?

    That and Koscielny back.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,611 ✭✭✭✭ERG89

Nah, Koscielny was covering him, imo.

Cech should have ducked out of the contact.
Fully expect a late winner for Arsenal even if they had 10 men....well maybe not so late

Would have been a definite red last year. I don't like the new rule. If a player goes round a keeper he can just pull him down and take his chance with a pen.

It needs to be genuine attempt at winning the ball or it will be red.

Not a chance for Sunderland to survive this season.

That Sunderland penalty was the wake up call arsenal needed

Sunderland are Derby 07/08 level bad. Arsenal in 2nd gear get 3 in 7 minutes

Sunderland have been teetering on relegation for years and it's about time they go down by the looks of things today, woeful stuff.

Yep; hard to see where they're going to get a win from. And yes, I know; they looked the same when Di Canio and Allardyce took over as well.

I know I say this every year, but I just cannot see how Sunderland can possibly stay up this season.

No one associated with the club can have any complaints, realistically. Year after year after year we have been gifted the opportunity to rectify the mistakes made and the chance has never really been taken.

It's a massive shame that the one time we got a manager in who would have pushed us away from the constant relegation battles that he leaves for England which ended in disaster, but that's the way it goes.

Moyes had a competitive budget and didn't have to do a huge amount to have this squad safe but blew it completely. He is a broken man and a busted flush but I suspect the club are happy enough to stick with him regardless which is the wrong play IMO. He should have been out weeks ago but with Bournemouth away and Hull at home to come in the next 2 games it will be telling if he is still there after the Hull game if we fail to win it.

Best striker in the league by a mile. There's nobody even close.

Just threw himself on the ground, thought he might have been offside too?

Alexis had a much stronger shout for a penalty earlier and it wasn't given. Clear pull on his shoulder when he was already past the defender.

This one was much softer and it was given. Very inconsistent refereeing as usual.

    Bollocks tbh

Especially using the term "real" when it's a totally subjective term. Why is Aguero world class and De Gea or Ozil not?

I believe he was referring to strikers.

Fair enough, I definitely wouldn't argue that. Very few great strikers in the league these days compared to even 5 years ago.

Striker it was as the previous posts were about his goal.

Hull and Sunderland as good as down already.

    1 relegation spot left IMO.

I thought Watford would really struggle this season. Not going to go down now and I'd imagine that's all Watford fans could have hoped for with anything else a bonus?

Apart from the double whammy struggle of trying to adjust to a new league and trying to adjust to Pep, his fitness has been the main thing hampering him. I maintain that when fully fit there isn't a better central midfielder in the league and few better on the planet than Ilkay Gundogan.

The signings made this summer did give me confidence that we'd make a good stab at it but the big worry was second season syndrome.

When you see some of the players signed (Success, Pereyra), it is difficult to see how we could go down. I can't believe I'm saying this but Watford could become a solid mid table PL side in the coming years. Incredibly well managed by the Pozzo family.

3rd clean sheet in a row too which is a major improvement from the start of the season. Had a horrific early fixture list so to be where we are is very impressive by the players and Mazzarri!

Liverpool's fixtures between now and Christmas:

    Watford (H)
    Southampton (A)
    Sunderland (H)
    Bournemouth (A)
    West Ham (H)
    Boro (A)
    Everton (A)
    Stoke (H)

No reason at all they shouldn't fancy themselves to be top at Christmas with those games.

January to March throws up some very tricky games, but if they're in with a shout by April then their last 9 games are all very winnable.

The thing I'm most impressed about since Klopp came in is we no longer collapse when we concede.

Yes were still very nervy but now the teams heads don't drop and the players dont give up.

Might want to show it for Argentina in his career or in the latter stages in Europe to say that tbh.
