Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    City's control here is excellent.

Seeing as I'm debating it, you're wrong on that point :p

    Manchester United
De Bruyne playing as a full back in possession is working very well, as is Sterling pushed up front.

Apart from the chances they've gave Everton of course.

    That's not a free.

Also before the pen Everton should have got a free for a high foot up at t that city box.

This playing out from the back stuff is an accident waiting to happen.

What a ball from De Bruyne.

    Great ball, should have scored.

    Based on his success?

His passing thus far has been excellent.

What chances? Bravo has had **** all to do in terms of shots on goal.

Yep, and that one time the ball slipped under his foot was class too.

    Spoofer.

Shocking. Clichy gives the ball away twice (!) for City in an area that nobody expects him to, everyone is caught out. Once again, quality full backs are essential for this to work.

    Blame the tools...

If Guardiola doesn't have the fullbacks for "this to work" then he shouldn't be playing that system.

    And here comes the excuses

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,665 ✭✭✭✭Arghus

Listening to this match on Newstalk and I've no idea what's going on. The boys are just blathering and then chances just seemingly materialize out of nowhere. It's like flicking back to the game every thirty seconds or so.

Andy Reid sounds like he's permanently on the verge of tears.

Typical. Boss the game, waste our chances and then concede with the first shot on our goal.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

    Manchester United

Blame the coach. You simply can't lose the ball like that, when you try to play like City do. Especially when, up to then, they'd been very good.

That was some sigh from Pep.

He greatly underestimated in class on league.

    City defence is shocking

I'm listening to Talksport who are okay but not as good as 5live (and they are not as good as they used to be)

    Aguero with a miss

How did Aguero get away with that pull back..

Niall Quinn could not be more ****ing biased if he tried.

I think he greatly overestimated the quality of his defenders there so poor.

Is there no thread for this game? Thought there may be.

Everton are such a strange team to figure out.

I do blame Clichy for that goal, but stop pretending that he's somehow not capable of playing in a "system" (whatever that happens to be). You do know he won 3 league titles right?

But his teams don't have to defend.....or tackle :)

Coleman must be supremely fit. Busts a gut down the right in every attack.

He's bound to adopt the three at the back sooner rather than later or perhaps he'll stick to his guns, hard to tell.

    Chelsea
City looking more threatening than other games where they were basically a Van Gaal team. I can see an equaliser before full time

He's having the same problem as Van Gaal, you modify your system to suit the players you have.

This isn't Spain with Barcelona defenders.
