Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Great call from the Linesman over that second goal

If City wanted a passer in goals then why didn't they just play Silva there. He'd make as many saves as that fella and his passing is almost as good.

    According to OptaStats:

Claudio Bravo has conceded from 12 of the last 20 shots on target he has faced in the Premier League.

Joe heart surely better than this "keeper"
    Atrocious signing by pep

Davies looks good just lacks a bit of experience giving away silly fouls.

I think it's because his replacement is brutal

Not at all. He has his faults but at least he could save shots

Because it's 2 more than CITY have. It's not unbelievable when you score from shooting. City should try it
It was more a comment on how poor our defence is, you obviously missed that.

Or just how effective the British sports media is in influencing opinion. That or literally nobody in Britain knows why a goalkeepers ability on the ball would be important for a coach.

What is the primary purpose of a goalkeeper? What is the main thing scouts would look at when buying a goalkeeper?

The clue is in the name. The goalkeeper first and foremost has to be able to keep goal.. save shots you know.. things like passing ability should always be second to that otherwise you could just stick a midfielder in goal

Yup our footballing brain is beneath yours. But yea being good with your feet is handy when you're picking the ball out the net.

Joe heart can actually make a decent save even if he was occasionally error prone

Anyone watching football knows this, don't need the media to tell you

Has he been brilliant this season? No. Has he a proven track record of success, of big performances in the biggest games and does he fit the bill of what Guardiola would want in a keeper? Yes.

Lack of credit to Everton here, in fairness!

Pep could afford to leave his defenders almost one for one with attackers on counter attacks with Bayern and Barca.

He can't do it with City. They're just getting relentlessly punished in games against decent teams in this league.

I do wonder, how many league games or Copa America games does the common man in the pub in Britain or Ireland watch? Sitting in a pub right now I'd say fairly safely not very many. So they base their opinions primarily on pundits and commentary.

I think Iheanacho might be the one to suffer when Gabriel Jesus gets into the swing of things.

Yea he'll will have to give up those cameo bench substitutions or fill ins when aguero loses the cool and gets sent off again Chelsea. Or gets injured

Surely Pep saw how weak the team was for his philosophy? Surely he knows he needs to adapt to a more direct style.

It's a results business, you play to the strengths of what you have. So while you are right in what you say (probably a little soft tbh, he's been extremely poor, although alongside a few others), it's then a criticism of Pep.

Copa America??? Six games to watch for the winning team every two or three years? What relevance would that have

Its not really my...saying that south American football has any relevance as to why Bravo cannot save a shot and takes up atrocious goalkeeping positions just makes you look like a fool .

I would urge caution on praising a team who are playing a team who will only be good in a few years time when Pep gets all the good players that can make him look good. Then we can judge Everton! :D

    Lukaku trying to steal it.

Surely gives us extra incentive to beat Liverpool now

Credit to Everton, they've counter attacked well. City's problems are the same as all season. Some excellent football, marked with stupid mistakes. Give it time, give it some correct recruitment.

Well done Morgan obviously passed on Jose's tactics to give to Koeman.

    Inspired transfer.
