Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Goal! 1-0 Costa is a dangerous man and his excellent season continues. Great goal, great response to the media frenzy.

    Manchester United
Looked like a foul by Cahill in the build up, swings and roundabouts.

Lots of pundits trying to interpret Diego Costa's goal celebration, very little football analysis. It could only be Sky Sports.

    Chelsea
Was never a foul on Hull.

Sky havent mentioned Davies foul on Pedro yet or the "offside" goal but spend 5mins on a non-foul. :pac:

Looked like a peno there, swings and roundabouts.

Hull should have had a penalty there, wasn't a difficult decision either.

    Chelsea
Hull robbed of a penalty there though 100%

For all the criticism Arsene Wenger gets they are 2nd in the league & in the last 16. I'd gladly take that in a comparison to some of the sides below him.

But the problem is they always have that consistent level of performance but nothing greater than that.

I'd say Arsenal fans would gladly sacrifice that level of consistency for a league title every now and then or at least a challenge for the league right to the end.

    Chelsea
Hull were cheated out of a penalty but Davis should have been off and costas goal in the first half alone should have counted.

This is a vital 3 points considering the run we have soon.

Oh, god, that is a horrible view of it. I anticipate (hope) the Mirror are up to their usual hyperbolic tabloid stuff with the "fighting for life " bit . Poor guy.

Not once in that bit did they refer to a source.

Man City supporters caught on film

    https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/jan/25/anti-semitic-chanting-filmed-on-tram-before-manchester-city-tottenham-match
Antisemitic songs chanted by passengers on a tram before Manchester City’s Premier League meeting with Tottenham last Saturday have been widely condemned by the Jewish community.

Video footage on a tram ahead of the match appears to show supporters heading to the match singing: “You’re getting gassed in the morning” - a reference to the treatment of Jews in concentration camps during the second world war. Tottenham’s support is historically made up of a large Jewish fanbase and antisemitic chants and behaviour have been aimed at them for decades.

The footage was reportedly filmed on a Metrolink tram from Manchester city centre to the Etihad Stadium at around 5.10pm on Saturday.

The more they play the more inclined I am to believe that this is their level and last year was even more of a freak than it first seemed

That's pretty much it.But of course that sort of opinion was frowned upon on here.Last season was a complete fluke.

There is no doubting that last season was a complete and utter freak but that squad shouldn't be fighting relegation. I dip in and out of the Foxes Fan Forum and there is some very interesting insights into the whole downspiral. Majority of the fans appear to have seen this coming from mid October and have been calling for him to step down before Christmas but now want him fired,

10/1 to be relegated this morning, I imagine that will be down a point or two now. The truth is they wouldn't be any loss to the league!

    Bizarre stuff!

Two points off the drop zone. They are dropping like a stone.

Somebody used the phrase "sleepwalk into a relegation battle" about Leicester, certainly looks like it'll happen!

Depends what way you look at it? I don't think anyone really thought that on paper they should have won last year but they did, And over 38 games, they done it more comfortably than a lot of other winners have done so.

Nor did I come across many who realistically saw them in top 4/5 this season.

You can only beat the competition in front of you and the top teams were clearly at a low ebb over the 38 games and LCFC took adavantage

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,611 ✭✭✭✭ERG89

The scary part is they were more convincing winning the league last year than Chelsea have been this year. They won away at their rivals & had a world of pressure from everyone doubting them every weekend. Whatever happens them they deserved that league title.
Maybe convincing is the wrong word but it's a more impressive achievement for me. Them going to the Etihad & White Hart Lane last year and winning was some test of their character.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,022 ✭✭✭✭Iused2likebusts

Great day for Burnley another home win and 2 signings. Brady will definetly improve them in the wide positions. Dyche if he keeps them up should be a serious contender for manager of the year.
