Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Bilic looked like the village drunk shouting at schoolchildren today.

Chelsea to win, thought Fabregas would start ahead of Matic.

    why would you think that???

What I mean is, it is pretty clear who Conte prefers

He's in fine fettle, understand Conte's rationale though.

Maybe Mourinho is right. This Chelsea side is a brilliant defensive team, but what he hasn't mentioned is the brilliance and variety with which they attack. This Chelsea team has been a joy to watch this season and that's a tremendous goal via Pedro (with a big thanks to Moses).

He has played f all though. So hard to evaluate what "fettle " he is in. A couple of games against Brentford and Peterborough and a few minutes here and there to see out games off the bench won't tell you much

Brady with a beaut of a free kick, 1-1.

Nice goal from Brady. No sell by Roy

Courtois, big save. Best in the league.

After De Gea, as Chelsea have a better defense in front.

Really? Sideshow Bob and Cahill? Most don't rate either.

    There's not much between them.
De Gea is better at some things , Cortouis is better at some things.
There's no right or wrong answer to who's the best imo.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,050 ✭✭✭✭The Talking Bread

When it comes down to it though, I would imagine most teams would take De Gea over Courtois if offered either for same price

Chelsea as a team from start of season have been defensively very solid, it is more than just two players in front of the goalkeeper.

Courtois is an absolute beast in the box at claiming crosses but DeGea is the better shot stopper no doubt, both are class both are best suited to different styles I reckon

Can't see Burnley winning it, unfortunately. Not that it'd make a world of difference if they did. It's Chelsea's title, IMO. They could lose here and still go on to win their next 7 or 8 games on the spin.

If Chelsea don't win the league it'll be more of a shock than Leicester winning it last season.

They've given the MOTM to Michael Keane but David Luiz has been tremendous, especially considering he was limping about and in clear pain from the very start of the game. He fought on and made some key interceptions.

Me arse! 11 points might as well be 111 having played them twice.

I think it opens the door a tiny bit for Man City. Nobody else has a chance.

Much as I'd like you to be right, I can't see us catching Chelsea. But well done to Burnley. They were well worth the draw. They didn't show the fear that a lot of teams seem to have had when facing Chelsea this season. Burnley went out and gave it a good go.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,050 ✭✭✭✭The Talking Bread

Look at Chelsea's next 6 fixtures, could easily sweep the board and especially with no European football. It is such a pity that what should have been the tightest league season in terms of number of frontrunners has descended into a situation where some top bookies were paying out at the end of January! Madness!
And, tbh, although Chelsea are worthy winners, they aren't miles ahead of the rest and when you consider a team like United and even Spurs who have had 9/8 drawn games, respectively that, at least, half a dozen of them they could have won, it just shows how close the league could have been with a flick of the head.

The battle for top 4 is going to be fascinating though. Ditto relegation

Dyer gets injured over by the far touchline and, rather than get the stretcher team on to carry him off, he has to hobble off, walking (hobbling?) the full width of the pitch, risking making the injury worse. What are stretcher teams at the games for?

    Good hit that

    Leicester have really got nothing

Great finish. Some power on the strike from Ollsonn.

    Leicester are in serious trouble.

Can see Swansea staying up now with all the momentum they have.

Swansea 2-0 Leicester - they really are in all sorts of trouble
    until they play Liverpool

Lovely play but Schmeichel was a wet paper bag. Should have been saved.

They seem to have no self belief at all this season. Huth and Morgan were beasts last season. This season, they're making Stones and Otamendi look like Beckenbauer clones!

Is it possible for a whole team to be doping ?

I'd imagine it's quite easy.In any other sport in the world there would be massive question marks about this amazing rise and fall, although I don't think they were more just a massive coincidence that all of their players had the season of their lives at the very same time. Mediocre players are always capable of one great season in their career for Leicester it appears it happened for all their players at the one time.

1992 League Champions Leeds just finished 2 points ahead of the relegation places in 1993 and didn't win an away game.

Another great point for Burnley. Hull Swansea and Sunderland all away in the next 3 hopefully can pick up an away win in one of those 3.
