    Hi Folks,

I'm wondering if anyone knows where i might locate a set of these (see link). I am doing an adventure race next week and have just realized that these would be incredibly useful. I have bought toe clip pedals but I would much prefer to use something like these. Unfortunately, I do not have the time to order a pair from amazon as the delivery time is too late. Ideally, I would need them by the start of next week at the latest. If anyone knows a shop that sells these in Ireland or Northern Ireland then please let me know. I have looked around on the main bike shop websites but they don't seem to be sold anywhere.

Any help would be really appreciated.
    Thank you.

You might need a different link. That item has expired.

Dublin is probably too far so but I got a pair a few years ago in this place, although they're not listed on their website at the moment.

Wiggle have these which are the same thing:

    Should be delivered in time.

Thanks very much for these suggestions guys. I have just ordered the straps on Wiggle. It will be a close run race but fingers crossed they arrive on time. Cheers, claxxix.

Did you try any shops that specialise in fixies/single speeds? A lot of the fixie couriers use similar straps.

    Sorry for hijacking your thread.

Do you need a particular type of pedal for these.?

They look like a better solution for me to cleats.

Once your pedal has somewhere to bolt the fittings into like these. Not sure if they're a better solution than cleats though, they can be fidgety to use if you're stop/start pedalling while commuting for example.

With apologies for the undoubtedly stupid question (commuting newb), why are these not a better solution that cleats? I too am looking for an alternative. I'll get the cleats 'eventually' but these look like you could slip you foot in and out reasonably easily while still giving more security than an open pedal? Any advice on that would be much appreciated :)

You have to slip your foot in at an angle, and twist, like you would a cleat, to get a tight grip, but it's not as smooth as it is clipping in. I'd eventually get fed up if for example I'm stop/starting at lights, etc for example in Dublin city, and won't bother using it with whatever foot I use to step down if I know there's another stop coming up. And depends on how much you tighten it they may be too lose/tight if you don't wear the same footwear each day. I suppose if you don't have them tight enough you're losing the benefit of being able to pull up on the pedal anyway.

If you have decent stretches of a ride then the're fine. And I'm sure there's people out there who use them regularly who have no issues, I just never bothered with them outside of multi-sport type races.

Many thanks for that, so basically there's a 'knack' to these too (similar to the cleats) so not ideal for city cycling.

I have used these in the past and are a good option if you dont want to go clip less.

I have these and like op bought them for the one adventure race I've done. Not as good as cleats but way way better than nothing.
