I am still looking (and learning) about getting a house in Dublin and surrounding. The question of location is obviously a lot more complex than the question of built quality.

Do you know good sources where one can learn about the building styles of the last decades, w.r.t. houses, the materials used, their properties, what to look out for, insulation techniques, etc. Are there good books that are accessible for a non-technical audience?
