Perhaps you have little understanding of track racing. There is no way that was deliberate

I disagree, Cav has form with that kind of riding, but gets away with.

How aware would the riders be of the points standings?

There are huge screens either end of the track.

They can see the giant scoreboard.

Genuine question... to someone that knows nothing about track, it looked deliberate or at least reckless. Why wasn't it?
Very simply when moving up or down riders should look to make sure they are not taking someone else's line. I suspect Cav did look but things happen so quickly on the track by the time he moved the Korean was there (and was moving slightly up). It definitely was not deliberate in my book, but was careless. Commissaires can disqualify, but they don't have the benefit of TV replays and must take their decisions based on what they see.

That's a terrible thing to say.

They are looking at it and not the tv.

If TV programmes about TV programmes thought me anything it's that there's a sweaty chain smoking director in there barking orders to the desk about which camera to switch to. Currently that desk jockey from earlier is packing his desk.

I'm glad I'm watching this live this evening, I've been stung several times by the BBC with their switching of coverage from channel to channel.

Surely couldn't have been a deliberate attempt to take out a rival by Cav, he could have come off worse than anyone he connected with...

I'm telling yis, that director. They've missed several attempts at breaks after the sprint.

Well done to all three medal winners, Viviani getting back up to win gold, Cav and Lasse Hansen worthy podiums... what a race!

As Claire Balding said... the race was "so tense, for so long". Felt like every sprint counted.
