That was the team sprint - TT bars are not allowed in sprint events. This is the Team Pursuit where they are permitted

Money buys medals! Good article here on the Team GB track team and how they dominate to the chagrin of other nations. Much of it you may know already but still fascinating what other big cycling nations lack in comparison.

What's everyone's opinion on the Americans' Left drive-sided bikes? They were well up on GB's time for a while but then they went down to 3, and it didn't look planned. Hard to know if they had kept it together, would any advantage over the Brits actually be down to the bike. It would be interesting to see two times set by the same team, one on a conventional track bike and one on the American one

Tim Veldt was over at Sundrive last year in the International GP. Caused a bit of a panic when the starting gate didn't release him and we had Martyn Irvine hurtling round the track towards us oblivious of the fact the track was blocked....

Dutch Rider took a nice spill .... ouch !!

Nasty crash for the Dutch men in the team pursuit. Only one rider went down, but they only had 3 at the time, so a DNF for them

Think only Philip Hindes had one in the TS. The deal they have with Cervelo is they will only use them if they are faster and that can vary depending on rider. Or they may just be keeping them in reserve for later in the competition.

Will be interesting to see how many of the men pursuiters ride them.

... and a bit of origami!

Is it normal to repair the track with wads of paper and duct tape?

Could be worse, the track could down in wicklow where the local council would just come along and throw a load of gravel on it

Thinking the same, nice little bump on one of the banks!

Assume it will be fixed properly before tomorrows events.

They'll already have worked out in training when to change. Most teams change every half lap. Everyone usually does the same length of turn, but sometimes stronger riders go for longer. Bradley Wiggins usually does monster turns for GB at the start of their rides, up to 2.5 laps.

Tape to repair the track is standard. They tend to use a proper filler if required though - not seen them using paper before

Just seeing those New Zealanders reminds me 2 of those guys were also at Sundrive. They were spending the Summer in Europe but only had 1 Kask Bambino helmey between them, so they had to swap it over between their individual pursuits

GB 6 tenths outside the world record!

They've put a bit of pressure on the Aussies

Interesting that all 4 were on the new Cervelos. Bit surprised that Wiggo did a 2.5 lap stint then 2 laps then dropped out. Normally he would be pushing until the end
