Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

2010 Mitsubishi ASX, Diesel in the Engine Oil

    Hey Guys,

I have a 2010 mitsubishi asx (diesel) which I recently brought to my garage due to a engine oil warning light. Before I brought the car in I thought the oil level was okay as I checked it manually myself.

Now here is the twist. My garage said that diesel was mixing with the engine oil due to lack of use and that it would cost approx 1000 euro to repair? I thought they were pulling a fast one so i decided to not let them proceed.

I typically drive about 400km a week so I was confused by their lack of use statement.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So was the oil level down or not?

No, the oil level was full.

They said the warning came light came on as the diesel was mixing with the engine oil and overfilling it??

Possibly DPF related but not alot to go on. What exactly did they say was wrong with it and what were doing to fix it? Get a second opinion if you don't trust the first prognosis.

the mitsubishi site did mention the DPF but i thought the mechanic was spinning me a story with the diesel mixing with the oil?
