Is it possible to cook raw meat - a pork chop, for example - in a microwave oven?

You can thaw meat, but that is about it. Technically it is possible to cook raw meat in the microwave - but it is considered dangerous because microwaving cooks unevenly and there could be hot and clod spots, leaving bacteria to thrive.

The trick is to leave the food to "rest" for a few minutes, or stir it during the cooking, this levels out the temperature by allowing heat conduction from the hotspots to the coldspots.

As Fr Ted used to say, "It's just resting on my plate." :P
