    http://the-witness.net/news/2016/11/ps4-pro-patch-update/
If you have a PS4 Pro, and are outputting to a 1080p TV, The Witness will render at 1080p, 60fps, 4x MSAA (which is substantially higher than the base PS4’s 900p, 60fps, 2x MSAA). This is the same as we announced in the earlier posting.

If you have a PS4 Pro, and are outputting to a 4k TV, then you get a choice of two modes from the options menu:
    (a) 1440p 2x MSAA rendering of the game world, upscaled to 4k, text and UI rendered at 4k, 60fps
    (b) 4k 2x MSAA rendering for everything, 30fps

Totally thought Vr would sell out, amazon being a very good indication of what stock levels would be like, they were limiting purchases of vr to one per customer and giving warnings about stock levels. Nothing of the sort about the pro, I would imagine the pro has a very low pre order rate. Im getting one but cant imagine the pro getting much attention from casual gamers and parents etc. I predict a a strong bundle from Argos or tesco direct on black Friday, €350-400 plus at least two games

Amazon have the pro at 1 per customer

Email them yourself if you don't believe me.
looks like they want it to be on-sale for the weekend

It not that i don't believe you but i reckon anyone that has pre-orders would have been informed of a change of release date especially if its earlier..
It would also be the first time a Console release date has been early..ever.

Forgive my cynicism but its the way im made :)

What's happening this weekend that they need it out so soon?

Well the embargo for PS4 Pro reviews or impressions is the 9th so I'm hugely sceptical.
Amazon & Gamestop still showing 10th for release day.

It happened on the qt with N64 back in the day. Some shops were selling it here weeks early.

In saying that though Gamestop would know and would be shipping the online pre order consoles today and I've no email from them.

Has anyone been contacted by Gamestop yet about their pre-order? I preordered online to collect on release day, and was expecting some kind of notification by now. They contacted me weeks early with the original PS4.

No but I usually get contacted on release day, when they contact me at all.

That's more like it. That's what I'm hoping devs will do for us 1080p TV owners.

To be fair, The Witness was already an exceptionally well polished game that put a lot of focus on running well across different hardware, so that isn't entirely surprising :) More developers should aim for that sort of graphical approach that favours polish, efficiency and aesthetics over sheer graphical grunt.

Of course, it would be very much welcome if more games were as expertly crafted as The Witness too ;)

Have the TV already and it won't be updated/patched to support HDR.

You should absolutely still see the benefit of 4K even without HDR, in fact it makes more of a difference in games than it does in 4K Blu-rays.

It probably won't blow you away at first, but if you go back to 1080p the image is going to look noticeably softer.

If the Pro was coming out tomorrow I would have heard from gamestop that my pre-order had shipped. Heard nothing from them.

I'd hope to receive it on Wednesday if they are as good as they were delivering psvr.

I wish it was the 4th as the Pro will replace my bricked launch PS4. Been without a PS4 since the start of October and have the psvr sitting in a box looking at me.

    Roll on next week!

i have to trade in my ps4 and it would affect the amount of trade in if they launched it early and i hadnt brought mine in before then.. So i would definitwly have got a phone call from Game Stop

AFAIK a lot of that list is unconfirmed for PS4 Pro support, and the likes of Uncharted still doesn't have a patch date. Unless something has changed of course.

    Edit: Saw the link

Just got an e-mail to say Hitman is also getting a Pro patch. It will have an upscaled 4K output, with improved effects and native 4K UI elements. For 1080p users, it will use downsampling to improve the visuals there too.
