    So, the EU tell the government that they have no choice but to impose water charges and the government tell us that there's nothing they can do about it, but the EU tell them that Apple must pay tax and Enda and Noonan will fight them all the way?

    That seems to be about it but it has to be said that water charges by metering make eminent sense and we shouldn't need the EU to tell us to do it. This other business baffles me as a taxpayer.

    it would be easy to automate a single character text message to a single number...

    Joe should investigate how many of those texts were from unique, Irish mobile numbers..
