Hi, I just noticed that in my lease it says that as the tenant that I've to get the windows cleaned several times a year. Is that normal? I've never seen that before.

Seriously? You have to be told to clean the Windows?

It depends on the property. Is this a ground level, or an apartment several stories up?

Next, they'll want you to Hoover the house.

What floor apartment are you in?

I've never had the windows on my house washed since I got them replaced with Pilkington 'self cleaning' ones, not that I chose the glass - the window company did. Several times a year feels excessive.

What floor is this on OP? Its sounds fair enough for ground floor- not for subsequent floors that might require a ladder and/or specialist equipment.

I'm not on the ground floor. I was just curious as I've never seen it before, and can't recall anyone ever mentioning something similar in their lease.

Doesn't seem to cost too much and I'd like to get it done anyway.

If its an apartment type situation- it could very well be the case that the Management Company actually organise window cleaning periodically (absolutely harm to ask).
