Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hold a sec, what's he doing on the pitch?

They're the breaks we didn't get last year due to being a thousand miles from the opposition goal under LVG.

Why are you only commenting on what Rooney's doing? We've far bigger problems than him. Ibrahimovic is playing a hell of a lot worse at the moment.

It's the done thing for United "fans" on here. Ignore everyone else's shortcomings and magnify and over exaggerate anything remotely wrong that Rooney does.

Considering he's lined up on the right wing it's great to see him not rigorously consigned to that position.

What a comedy of errors. Lucky, lucky Utd.

Apart from the goal, it was fairly selfish not slipping in Ibra to be honest. Got very lucky.

    Rooney playing well.......

  • Big Fellaini the best player on the pitch

I dont think they are restricted to positions now compared to under LVG

Bournemouth so toothless.. cant see them getting a goal... especially as utd have a lot back defending..

Ibtahimovic walking around mifield. Whats he doing?

Rooney has been surviving on his reputation for a few years now. Id play Mikhitaryan ahead of him. Not sure about Mata either.

    Poor selection, poor performance.

That was brilliant timing! Can you post for all United games please?

Bournemouth are neat and tidy to a point but it's all rather inoffensive, Charlie Daniels in particular needs to show more down the left.

Very lucky but great to have taken the lead just before half time.

Still not exactly having a cracker is he? Bit of luck. United have been awful.

That was a chore of a half to watch. United look the same as last season. Bournemouth look solid enough but not invention in either team for 45 mins.

    Changes...please...changes

Mad stuff, get some Micky Ryan and Rashford in for the second half, let's keep this show on the road.

Awful? You'd think Bournemouth were playing United off the park. We havent been great but it's the first game of the season and we got better as the half went on.

People posting it's the same laboured junk by unites need to cop on. It's vastly different for one there is interchanging and roaming among the players. It's more direct when it can be.

However, coaching 24 months of routine out of players in 2 months is never going to happen .

As for Mata not passing to Ibra it very much looked like he was stretching and his first attempt was a toe poke

He seems very concerned about how we are playing.
Poor chap obviously doesn't even support united, can only imagine how he gets through a match of a team he supports or maybe they don't concern him so much.
    We are being hated again:D

    United have been awful. Sorry.

Rooney and Ibrahimovic strolling around the place. Martial isolated out wide (no one getting in the box for him). Mata trying.

No control in midfield. Herrera doing nothing - trying to link defence to midfield. Fellaini playing ok bringing the ball forward.

The play is slow and ponderous, just like last season. You have to wonder why players with a bit of vim about them (Mikhitaryan, Rashford) are not starting.

Ibe best player on the pitch.

Will players be fully fit by september?

Very laboured start by every team barring the two we've yet to see.

Not hating, trying to be objective.

Was excited for Ibra to come to the premier league and was looking forward to see him. He's dropping far too deep, strolling about, looks frustrated.

I wil agree Martial is isolated which was a problem all last season where he felt he had to do everything himself. I'm hoping a better plan and a proper no. 10 will sort this i.e. Mkhitaryan when he gets used

Listen don't worry about it we are winning after 45 mins of the first game of the season. Promise you we will be a better team after a few more games playing together, pinky promise:)

That's how Ibra plays he likes to link up the play sometimes honestly don't worry.

No worse a performance today from utd than city yesterday. Sunderland are a shambles at the moment and city only scraped a win at home. Early season is about getting points on the board and playing yourselves into form

Bailly is already showing that the pl is made for him not afraid to get stuck in and attack the ball.

What a ball in by ibra

wew nice flick from the man.

Almost in again, lovely flick from Ibra. Seemed a decent stop by the keeper.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,948 ✭✭✭✭Mars Bar

If that's a dive then it should be a yellow. Terrible from all three on the counter

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,105 ✭✭✭mada999

it's almost like Bournemouth want utd to score.. they are trying there best to concede another one

If thats a dive, i hope they ban him.

Anything to get him dropped at this stage.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,248 ✭✭✭✭BoJack Horseman

Ref, if it's no penalty then it was a dive & you should do your job and issue a yellow card.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,689 ✭✭✭bur

Bournemouth are dreadful. Gifting chances at the back and completely toothless up front.

Rooney booked for diving after missing a sitter.

    Refs are so inconsistent

Those foreigners diving are ruining the game.

    Rooney and Martial off

    Miki and Rashers on...

They have been toxic this game

  • Site Banned Posts: 12,341 ✭✭✭✭Faugheen

Everyone up in arms about Rooney's dive yet not a single mention of King's in the first half.

And people talk about the referee's being consistent. Marriner hasn't punished either. That's being consistent.

Rooney was clipped, not enough to justify a penalty but there was contact. It's not a penalty or a dive. It's not always one or the other.
