    Hi all

Firstly - mods - I hope it's ok, but I'm posting a similar thread in both the Dublin City, and in the Dublin 15 forum - just because these are two different places I am going to be in this weekend. If it's not cool, please let me know!

So - I'm living abroad, but I'm back in Ireland for the weekend. I have a mission to find a Claddagh Ring for a girl I don't know(!). Her boyfriend asked me to pick something up on a trip back to Ireland, but is a bit, um, vague when it comes to style. It's to be gold, I have the size, and other than that I think we've narrowed it down to probably not having a stone (but this is really me putting my own preference on it, and he just agreed - so other people's views would be appreciated). Price range is about €400 / €500.

Does anybody know the best jewellers for Claddagh rings in the D15 - I haven't been to the Blanch Centre in almost a year - or would there be anything still around in the village? It's a really nice surprise for his girlfriend, and it would be good to get something special - especially considering the amount he's willing to pay. I probably won't have the time to wait for something to be made.

Many thanks in advance, as I'm going in a bit blind here - I don't really know much about Claddagh rings except for the whole upside down meaning thing.

Fields are in Blanchardstown Centre on the upper level.

Argos used to do Claddagh rings, might be worth a look in there

    Thanks guys

@January - I really don't like the look of that puffed Claddagh ring. Sorry - I'm being as annoying as the person who sent me to to find this.. (I do appreciate the suggestion though!!) I'd say something slim if possible. I think the girl who will be wearing this would be quite dainty - and (my impression) is that Claddagh rings can be a bit heavy. If it were up to me, I'd be looking for a slim band, and a light enough ring piece if that makes sense?

Thanks Gaspode - I didn't think of that either! i'll have a look in Argos too.

A claddagh ring does not cost 400 euro. But do not buy in Argos. Looks cheap. Is cheap. I would go with Fields. You can get 10% off for cash as well. Blanchardstown centre also has Tower and Crystal jewellers. But please no Argos. Any girl would run a mile.
