Best area to live in Dublin?

I'm thinking of moving to Dublin to work and study. I would study part-time in the centre and I'm wondering if it'd be more economic for me to get a job and a room downtown-ish and save on the commute, or rent outside of the city centre. I don't drive so I'd have to use Luas or the buses. I'm interested in a safe…

There,s 1 bed apartments or flats all over the city centre ,
work out which one is close to the luas or the bus stop on the route where you work .
see www.rent.ie .
flats in a house with a shared bathroom are cheaper.
Stay away from flats close to council estates or council blocks or close to pubs ,night clubs .
phibsboro or drumcondra ,cabra ,Santry are pretty good ,but i have no idea where you work.
Post where you work eg ballsbridge ,santry etc then you,ll get more precise
advice .
Theres no best area ,as its no use to you if it will takes 3 bus trips ,2hours commute to get to work.
You should have travel time of 20-30 mins max to work.
eg i did 2week course in tallaght it took me nearly 2 hours to get home every day ,using 2 bus trips .
say 15 mins wait for each bus .
Theres loads of gyms are over the city .
