Hi all, passing though Athlone in a few weeks. Has anyone any suggestion s as to where I might get a resonably priced lunch around the town. I mean a dish around €10 that isn't fast food. Cheers

Opposite the castle is Melody restaurant.

It has a nice lunch menu and you can even sit outside if the sun is shining :)

The Corner House Bistro is slightly above your budget but the food is gorgeous! They are just up the street from the Athlone Town Centre shopping centre.

+1 on the corner house. Had lunch there yesterday and it was delicious. Most mains are around the 15 yo yo mark.

Beans and Leaves or Loaves and Fishes for sure. Great food in both spots.

The Coffee Dock down on the Strand is brilliant quality and value. And if this weather ever lets up you can even sit outside and get a brilliant view of the river as you eat!
