Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Has anyone considered how this may be claimed? It strikes me that limiting this to new cars sold in Ireland may be incompatible with EU law?

The SEAI website gives the impression the grant is only available when buying from a "registered dealer", which I assume would have to be a dealer trading in Ireland. And also even though it says for "newly registered" cars, surely it's really only for new cars as opposed to used imports? It's all quite vague...

I think you would have a hard time convincing a judge that your rights have been throdden on by buying a car in the UK and receiving/benefitting from the UK grant and then expecting to claim another €5k grant when you bring it into Ireland.

SEAI Registered Dealer AND registered model of vehicle.

In theory there's nothing stopping a UK (or any EU) dealer of an existing registered model from registering with the SEAI.
