    What about family plans?

Do either couple plan on kids? Would this arrangement fit ? The house would accommodate 2 families?

Re planning, doable in principle. Planning to subdivide the site and house into two to be shown on plans/elevations and site layout. Will require separate entrances (can be side by side), water supply, sewage arrangements, wall/fence to subdivide the front and rear gardens. These works will cost money on top of the purchase price, will need to supply the banks with the two costs between the both of you, legal agreement and survey/plans by reputable architect/engineer. Planning would probably be the easy bit, with a purchase agreement subject to planning. More things that can go wrong when three parties involved and of course the seller would prefer to deal with one purchaser. Good luck, and make sure you have things covered and be prepared to back out, if not doable. When large sums of money involved and if things go t1ts up, trust with the other party will inevitably suffer, be prepared both parties for that for it is a business decision and must be treated as such.
