I need to drive to Limerick after work but don't want to go too early and just get stuck in traffic.

What do you guys reckon is the earliest I could hit the road w/o wasting too much time getting across the city, thru Clarinbridge, etc?

    Was thinking 6? Half 6?

I would have said you would be ok at that time.

It's bedlam there this afternoon though with roadworks and an accident on top of Friday evening traffic so you might still be slightly delayed even then.
    Hard to say, unfortunately.

Another option is head to Craughwell and cross country to Labane.
Roads aren't super but at least you'd be moving. 10km longer but might still work out quicker.
Check Google maps at the time you are heading, it's is good for live traffic/time to destination.

Another option for a slightly more scenic route, would be as far as junction 16 on the M6, once you hit Loughrea you could either head to Gort or perhaps Portumna, Nenagh, M7 if your destination is more to the east of Limerick.
