Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Brilliant goal, Leicester haven't woken up yet and were taking full advantage. Great stuff so far.

Was optimistic about winning before, now I'm trying to put a number on how many well score :P

Give Rooney and Fellaini their blood money, and tell them never to darken the doors of Old Trafford again.

Jessie been poor so far. A lot of stray passing.

He has and the fans have been getting on his back for it, which I think is a bit harsh.

Hope all the Rooney apologists can now see that he has been holding us back. We have better players than him and that is showing today.

Ibra has room to get more involved with team than ever since Rooney has been dropped.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,576 ✭✭✭deaddonkey15

Why compare the corner to Rooney's? It's as if your replying to someone who said he takes awful corners.

    I'm not, other posters were.

Its time to send Rooney to the glue factory .
Its 3 years overdue but at last it seems to be dawning on the Utd management .Took a long time for the penny to drop.

Rooney has to be sweating now, saying that he should be delighted for the sake of the team!

Can I ask a forum question?

What is the point of the match threads if we are just going to talk about it here? Is it just to keep rival fans away from the main thread?

Not a complaint, just on other threads they run non-spoiler system and just assumed that it was the same

There's a rule in place that there's no match discussion in the superthreads. This is ignored by the more sensitive posters on here who are too delicate to have to read the opinions of non-Utd supporters. The mods for some reason have let this go on and now the match threads have become mainly for the opposition fans and the superthread for Utd fans. It'll be fun when a mod eventually cards someone for it as they can point to countless examples of when it's been let slide.

It's only 1 game. 3 of our goals have been from set pieces. Most of these players started against Feyenoord and lost.

Lads what the absolute **** is going on

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,322 ✭✭✭✭MisterAnarchy

Its not like Leicester to concede many goals from setpieces .
3 goals from setpieces conceded .
Leicester have been dreadful today but Utd have been ruthless.

    Please note Rooney takes corners

    I agree it's only 1 game

We need ten+ of him out of the team

While I'm loving how were playing without Rooney today I don't agree with your post.

Many have said that if Rooney being dropped results in a loss it shouldn't be over used in the argument to get rid of him or not as its only one game which isn't a big window, things take time etc. So why if we play good for one half against a completely stale Leicester squad should it be used as proof that Rooney shouldn't be any where near the team.

I agree it was the right thing to drop him and we have been brilliant so far today. But like if we played bad or good, it is only one game and shouldn't be used to heavily in any long term discussions.

Anyway, it's been an absolute joy of a game to watch so far and I can't wait for second half.

blind has been fantastic today and our midfield is completely different than last few weeks, herrera moving the ball quickly is helping pogba.

mata no10 has been fantastic as well.

heres to a great 2nd half as well

Since Leicester away 2 years ago when Utd were 3-1 up and playing great stuff and we thought the tide had turned but alas we know how that ended up.

We've scored 2 goals from corners. If I remember accurately, up until now Rooney has been taking our corners and they haven't been exactly producing goals.

It means less hassle for everyone. Sometimes you just want to chat in middle of game without putting up with bollox. Bascially it's same yokes in there for every game there for one reason only.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54,656 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

Look how Ibra just kills the ball there after a hard pass from Mata

    Just majestic

I don't think Rooney is done but he needs to be treated like every other player now.

He's out of the first team. He needs to perform to get his place back.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,846 ✭✭✭✭Liam McPoyle

    Fantastic performance thus far.

Only annoyance from me has been Jessie who aside from the assist has been poor.

Mikhi when fit should take that spot.

Mata was poor for the first 20 but has gotten into it.

    Pogba has been the lynchpin.

    Rashford has been great.

    Ander has been great.

    Blind has been great.

Obviously only 45 minutes in one game but there seems to be a lot more fluidity without Rooney trying to get involved in everything.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,136 ✭✭✭✭How Soon Is Now

If you ignore them then you might as well just stay in here! There be no one else to talk to ha.

Yes a fan of United ,not Rooney ,there is a difference you know.

Saying one of the club's greatest players should be sent to a glue factory is just the height of disrespect. Not to mention outrageously childish and immature.
