Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That's why Martial plays every time over Memphis. No question.

Pogba is a liability in a midfield 2.

    Rooney.

    Assist.

Think it should have been Rooney for Ibra if anything and leave Mata on.

    Quality finish form Martial.

Another top assist from Rooney. How he judged that the defender would come in and tackle the ball to the waiting Martial is just phenomenal.

That play there from Rashford  Unreal.

Hopefully that goal will be a big boost for Martial.

    Accident? Ha!

A perfectly weighted one-two with the Stoke player to play in Martial.

Rooney bad touches lead too goals in last two matches long may it continue

Pogba has been far from awful. He has missed some chances yes but nearly anything good that happened in first hour he was setting it up or having a shot. One of our better players.

  • Hopefully that goal will be a big boost for Martial.

    A stunner it was
    Delighted for him

His touch has been Rooneyeusqe at times.

At times he has made mistakes yes but he has also setup some nice moves. He is the most forward thinking midfielder we have.

    First half misses haunting us.

I can forgive DDG for the error, he has earned a few over the last few years.

Very poor from a lot of the players

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,719 ✭✭✭JaMarcusHustle

Oh God, Rooney - please take a good corner, for the sake of this thread.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

Pogba awful, Zlatan was poor, Rooney did nothing

    Not good enough

Fcuk sake Pogba you don't miss a header from 3 yards out! What a way to throw away 2 points.

We drew to the worst team in the league ffs

    Same **** different season.

Its not though. Yes we dropped points and hadn't the best day but the performance was very different to any from the Van Gaal era.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,227 ✭✭✭✭J. Marston

City or Liverpool, teams we're supposed to be on the level of, would have put 4 or 5 past Stoke today.

We're going to be in some state after our next two games.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,843 ✭✭✭GSPfan

Irritating. Are we cursed or something nowadays because of years of winning?

There will probably be some outrage but that game was a bit of a freak really.

    Uncharacteristic error from DDG
It was a miracle stoke didn't concede a bag full of goals today
Also think the subs were poor from Jose. Ibra should have come off for Rooney. Herrera and Mata are the main reasons we have some creativity in the attacking third and both of them were off the pitch when we needed them the most.

  • Well that's my Sunday ****ed

Pogba needs a right kick in the arse.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,019 ✭✭✭✭adox

Pathetic and not good enough. Decided to try and cruise after finally getting the goal.

    Poxy. Absolutely poxy.

Pogba - causing more problems than solving?

A point at home against bottom of the table Stoke. **** off.

Ridiculous result....considering the possession and chances they had.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

That's two embarrassing results after playing strong teams in the Europa

Scrap it altogether, we're miles behind City, Arsenal, Pool and Spurs as it is

De Gea is the last person you expect to drop points on you. :(

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,576 ✭✭✭deaddonkey15

Many saying United should have scored a few chances from earlier in the game, Stoke should have had 1 or 2 themselves.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,838 ✭✭✭✭3hn2givr7mx1sc

One of the most frustrating games in recent memory. And there's been a few!

But, to look at it in a rational sense, in how many games will Zlatan miss 2/3 sitters, Lingard's effort get saved, Pogba hit the bar from 5 yards out and DDG make a monumental fúck up? First half was a very good performance, but a mix of Zlatan's finishing being off and the 'keeper having the game of his life kept the scoreline at 0-0.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,557 ✭✭✭mewe

Very unlucky there. Thought we played well and deserved the win. Only for De Gea's fumble we would've won and their keeper did great to keep them in it.

That's very true. I'm furious at the poor finishing, but Stoke's goal was a surprise and I thought we might grab a winner. That was a rare expectation in the LVG days.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,553 ✭✭✭bryangiggsy

Can't understand why we don't run at them at pace with the wingers we have when they are in our end of pitch. I know they put 10 behind the ball but the slow recycling from the back and midfield when Stoke do commit is so frustrating sometimes. Not looking forward to Anfield in 2 weeks time tbh.

Bar the fluff by De gea for the goal they did **** all
Joe Allen had one half chance he created himself and that was it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

We can't write it off as one of those days because we seem to have them at an alarming rate compared to the teams ahead of us in the league.

Two months into Klopps reign Liverpool would have lost a game like this. Its early days for this manager and when things get established these games turn from frustrating missed chances to comfortable wins.

They had a great chance in the first half when the ball was cut back to Bony who missed it and instead fell to someone else at the edge of the box. His shot was weak though.

100%. Days like today happen. We won't miss chances like that all season it will start to click

We can still loose games like that, look at Burnley.

Every team will have days where things just don't click/go wrong.

They had a great chance in the first half when the ball was cut back to Bony who missed it and instead fell to someone else at the edge of the box. His shot was weak though.

And Joe Allen had another really good chance too.

United played great for the first half hour and created a **** load of chances which they didn't take. Stoke then came much more into the game and it was a more even contest til Utd got the goal.

They then decided to try and keep possession, tap it around for whatever reason. The tempo dropped completely.

It's a **** result whatever way you butter it. Even at this early stage of Jose reign teams like Stoke should be beaten.
