Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Just players I've seen.

Has anyone combined their Liverpool & Man United 11 yet? You can do it here. It's very difficult. Post your teams. :)

Mine (tried to put bias aside):

A lot of those players were involved in Liverpool teams that dominanted England and Europe.
Its not like they're listing Razor Rudduck or Phil Babb.

Today's press conference, nothing of major note but that's the ball back rolling again. Monday is going to fly in.

In team news, Mourinho confirmed to MUTV that both Shaw and Mkhitaryan are fit for Monday...

I could make cases for others, Hansen, Dalglish particularly, along with Robson and one or two more, but right now thats my team.

Alonso over the Slippery foot anyway for me. Liverpool have had some great footballers in 80s but if I was to pick team from my day of following United only 2 Liverpool players would make it.

Never going get everyone to agree

I'd potentially have Michael Owen instead of Van Nistelrooy. Other than that agree entirely. Haven't been around long enough to go back very far

Really? Michael Owen would be behind Cantona and Fowler along with Ruud and probably a couple of others! A good player who had the potential to be great but was made of lettuce!

Too young to get to see Cantona at all or Fowler at his pomp sadly. Owen was flying during my earliest memories of the league so that's probably clouding my judgement a bit. Always saw him as a more rounded player than van nistelrooy who was an outrageous finisher but didn't really do anything else. He was playing in a far better team too so was getting more chances to get on the end of things. Owen from memory created a far larger amount of his goals for himself.
What was Van Nistelrooy like for the Dutch team?

The thing with Alonso is that he was mediocre for much of his time at Liverpool and was almost sold by Rafa. Great player but didn't fully come into his own until his last season, maybe two, at Liverpool and then was class for RM. Hyypia was better than Carragher but I'd have Rio and Vidic over both of them. Gerrard was incredible but I'd have Keane over him and Scholes is a lock for me.

I'm sure Liverpool had some incredible players in the 70s and 80s that rival ours in the 90s, but I'm too young to say with any certainty that Dalglish would get in over Denis Law or George Best over John Barnes, for example, as I never saw any of them play at their peak.

So with modern day players in mind, I'd have Suarez over RVN and Cantona. And then really only Gerrard as a possibility, if you truly believe he was better than Keane or Scholes, which I don't. And this makes sense considering Liverpool haven't won a title in most of our football watching lifetimes, whereas United dominated and got to 4 CL finals, winning two to boot.

I'm sure older Liverpool fans would make good arguments for some of their 70s and 80s players.

Imagine the nonsense that be talked if jose brings out a center back in the last few minutes to grab a win. It be hoof ball but with city it's a good tactic. Pepball for the win.

With City and Arsenal dropping points, a win vs Pool will throw us back up along the big guns.

If we lose, the table is going to look terrible for us.
