Disappointed with Fellani starting. Happy with Rooney being benched. Young could work out well for us in this game.

The two lumbering freighters in the middle of the park. Herrera's going to have fun trying to do the work of three men in there.

Watch him get sent off due to frustration.

Well, a midfield of Pogba, Herrera and Fellaini will be very physical...

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,690 ✭✭✭ElChe32

I know Jose was gunna spring a surprise, but only starting 10 men isn't the best start stankratz!

    Where the **** is Martial?

Anthony Martial not in the United squad today due to minor knee injury. [sfr]

Young.....YOUNG.... Jees i wasnt expecting that.

It could work with him in front of valencia.

It could also work with him in front of blind.

Hoping he has a good 60mins and then let Lingard come on and run at them.

Honestly though, cant see us getting anything out of this game. Obviously i hope im wrong, as usual.

martial has a minor knee injury apparently

Young will be on the left with Fellaini supporting him. Trying to get what worked against Spurs (iirc) to work again tonight.

good thing about young is he will put plenty of good crosses in for ibra.

Ibra first goal with a header

Morgan not even on the bench thought he was perfect for tonight.

Clearly has no future at the club

    He's 3/1 to score anytime
    Great price IMO

I've tried looking for a positive angle and I just don't see any.

Just want this match out of the way.

Defensive setup from Jose, I wouldn't blame him, I'd take a point too but we see what happened against city when we tried that

Will put in plenty of crosses alright. Will be a first if he puts in plenty of good crosses.

He's the only surprise for me and I'd guess he's selected as a "safer" opinion defensively. He will work his socks off.

The team actually looks ok(as did the team starting against City). The problem with the first half display against City was Utd stood off too much, invited City on and played right into City's hands. Much better in the second half when they upped the tempo, stepped up and pressed the ball much better.

Utd need to start the game at a high tempo, get in Liverpools faces when they most likely dominate early possession.

Set pieces will be a big weapon for Utd.

Him and Martial picked up injuries Saturday according to club.

But Young starting is a bit ridiculous.

This needs to go well or I'll slaughter Mourinho. Not happy with how this is shaping up and already annoyed over his comments on the referee.

As I said last week, I really hope that Fellaini can keep his elbows in check and Herrera the same with his emotions in this game. Last thing we need is an early dismissal, or any.

Nerves are starting to build now. Hope our 11 are in a good frame of mind.

Worried by that line up, hate football!

Im worried about that starting 11 by utd

    Could be trouble ahead

Sky have been bigging this up for about 2 weeks now!!!

    I feel a 0-0 coming on!

Pogba got greedy in that play, pass to the right and it would be a good scoring chance

Happy with the way we've started, just missing that final ball, controlling the middle, not been in any danger at the back

Still waiting for Pogba to influence a game

Seemed to me like it was the same kind of foul that Lovern did on Ibra

But the card stayed in the pocket

Saw that yellow coming for young, just wouldn't shut up

The standard of play has been terrible from both teams.

Sums up the premier league in general really and how much it's dropped

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,226 ✭✭✭✭J. Marston

I'm too bored to be nervous.

Decent so far, need to see more from Pogba.

José has the team selection bang on so far.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,846 ✭✭✭✭Liam McPoyle

Mata from the bench to get winner.

Happy enough with the performance so far. We are lacking that cutting edge up front. I can see Young getting another 10/15 minutes then been hooked for the Special Juan.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,347 ✭✭✭Quandary

Herrera has been quality so far, as has Fellaini. Dominating the middle. Pogba with a few nice glimpses but not doing much to influence the game really. id say Klopp will have to do something to change it up. Mourinho has nullified them as it stands.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,019 ✭✭✭✭adox

Decent enough first half performance. Rashford has been pretty poor as has Pogba but th rest have played decent.

Bailly booking was a joke. Lovers had a couple of them at Ibra without the same consequences.

    Pogba has been seriously underwhelming.

Fellaini and Herrera working well together.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

We really need a goal because Liverpool will certainly score the first good chance they get.

    Offered nothing going forward

Very happy with that and pretty much what I expected, Liverpool were never some unstoppable force we needed to be worried about. Win or lose we have been the better team here and so much better than anything from the previous era.

Pogba has done nothing though, yet again.

Pogba too laborious so far in this match, and overall so far this season.

Ibra has made mistakes that 1) were poor 2) Rooney would be chastised for. Need to see a bit more composure from him in the second half.

Rashford has had some poor moments, but I think if we're going to get a goal from this game he is the team's best chance. We're putting pressure on Liverpool, but Ibra isn't getting close enough to the goal or really inside the box.

Apart from individual mistakes, team doing alright so far with some nice work being done by Fellaini and especially Herrera.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,347 ✭✭✭Quandary

Ibrahimovic won't be coming off, even if he is playing poorly offensively. He offers constant threat from set pieces and is excellent defensively when needed.

He has, but he is also playing like I would expect a 35 year old on his own up front to play.

23 year old Pogba is no teenager, he has plenty of experience and he is the worlds most expensive player, we should be expecting a hell of lot more from him.
