Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The important difference is between an acceptable result and a bad loss.

yep, I'm sure their morale has taken a hit the last couple of weeks, no wins in 4 now, whereas we haven't lost in 5 and Jose will be able to use the result against pool as a booster

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,388 ✭✭✭✭Jayop

Big win tonight hopefully will add to that moral booster before the next two big games. I know City is only the league cup but the last thing you'd want is to be spanked by them in it.

Think alot has been learned about city over the last couple of weeks.

Also think Jose learned a lot from the first half display we had against them and it won't happen again.

Does anyone know if you can get BT Sport Showcase on Freeview here, they are showing the match free to air tonight?

    Still no Mkhitaryan.

Happy enough with that. Would have liked Fozzy to get a run but happy to see Darmian in anyway. Surprised to see Pogba playing again.

delighted to see carrick in midfield

It's free to air on BT Sports 2 if you have a satellite

It's a bit worrying that Henrikh and Schneiderlin are not even on the bench if they are fit to play.

Herrera getting a well deserved rest after the work he put in at Liverpool surely means he's starting against Chelsea too.

The chap is just returned from injury, relax.

I think Jose wants Pogba to play as much as possible in an effort to get him bedded in quickly. No harm IMO.

Looking forward to seeing that front 6 playing with Rooney hopefully staying up front and not dropping back.

It's as likely pigs will fly as Rooney sticking to position...

Blind not in the squad can only mean Jose doesn't fancy him and he's going to be sold soon.

You'd have to imagine Henrikh still isn't quite right. No way would Jose buy him and discard him already with so few appearances.

It looks like Jose just doesn't fancy Schneiderlin.

I'd normally agree but 5 games in 12 days and this is the least important of them all. I guess he thinks Pogs can play in them all. I suppose he wouldn't be too tired after the Poll game considering he was a passenger for most of it.

Pretty sure Schneiderlin is injured aswell

Couldn't agree more. Hopefully this is the real start to his Utd career. He's coming into his peak years now and with any luck he'll be a mainstay for us. It's been far too long since we had a midfielder with his skill set.

Like a Paul Scholes that can tackle a bit better but can't pass as well.

OK so nothing like Paul Scholes.

He'd damn well better. Games like Monday show that Zlatan should not be undroppable, the best thing Rooney can do for himself is to go out tonight and show that he is still a very good striker, and worth playing in that posiiton.

I.miss 18 year old Rooney. What a player.

Great to hear RVP getting a big cheer and a chant. I miss him. Hope he's quiet tonight though :D

The Eir sports commentary is horrendous continuously going on about the Utd supporters booing the team already. I would presume that's the Turkish fans.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,136 ✭✭✭✭How Soon Is Now

Really should of had mykitarian on bench at least. I mean how else do you get match fitness then by playing?

If doesn't feel he's good enough for this surely won't have him near Chelsea or City then either so that means no time for another few games added to what he's missed already.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,638 ✭✭✭✭bangkok

is there anything to be said to 2 strikers playing up front?? give both centre halfs something to think about... we are the home team

    Great run and great penalty

    Juan Mata :)

    Pure class

Two brilliant passes for the penos.

Very unusual having different peno takers after the first one was converted but the ends justify the means.

How was the defender for the second one not booked?

Did I mention the commentators are driving me mental?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

Pogba was playing far too deep before the penalties

already in 45 mins, carrick is proving yet again why he should be in the starting 11. pure class

Hargreaves and Owen in the studio and then they add further pain with Savage
