Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Not that I'm too concerned, but this time last year Martial was the one considered to be very "grounded", happily settled down with his girlfriend and staying out of trouble. That didn't last long. Coincidentally his form is currently very worrying.

Adnan Januzaj was also very grounded, didn't he bring a girl on a date to Nandos in some tracksuit bottoms? Salt of the earth for while he was but we know what happened next.

My point? None really, except that I wouldn't read too much into these stories about Rashford. I'd rather hear these stories then those we heard about Ravel Morrison but Rashford has a lot of growing to do mentally as well as physically, so they don't mean very much at this stage.

Can see both teams playing for a draw tomorrow. Neither manager will want to lose, better to come out of it unscathed and keep the positivity going. Its too early in the season for the result to make a real difference but physiologically it could.

Jose will do what he has had to do in the past when faced with an equal foe. Sit back, keep it tight and minimise risks. Hopefully Zlatan or Rooney can produce a bit of magic to steal a win but 0-0 leaves everyone to fight another day.

Rooney bicycle kick in the last few minutes? Now that was a hell of a way to win a derby!

I take Rooney's bicycle kick and raise you RVP's last gasp free kick

I posted it before in this thread but it's one of my favourite RVP goals

I loved the photos that did the rounds after with flares going off in the background...

I gotta say for those 15 months or so RVP was untouchable and you could tell how much he loved being at United.

It was a deflection tho cookie it wasn't that great a goal to be fair ;)

Yeah, I was watching all of his goals on I had recorded from MUTV recently and he was on fire fire for that first season. He was scoring for fun from all over the place. I completely forgot that he actually scored a hat-trick against Aston Villa in the game with the famous volley that won us the league that year. He had an impressive goal to game ratio for us (58 goals in 105 games according to Wikipedia) Which was better than his tally of 132 goals in 277 for Arsenal too.

Didn't think RVP had played 105 games for United.

    Edit: Or scored 58 goals!

The king played in 6 premier league derby games for United and he scored 7 goals and assisted 3.

    He loved playing city obviously

He won us the PL. He deserved it too after slogging away at Arsenal for so long getting nothing but a single FA Cup.

I have to say, I was heartbroken watching a halfhearted warmup from RVP at Fenerbahce. He looked miserable and dejected. And stuff like this:

Was convinced we were away for this until i checked just there.

I think we might sneak a win jose knows how to keep a team compact and tight defensively. hes done it enough against united over the years.

I know valencia has started great but i still worry for him getting caught out of position as he attacks with the pace in citys team.

He will be only getting back from international duty this evening so he will be a huge doubt to play anyways.

Yeah going to get the sky sports app on my phone later for the free trial period. Will be up near the front of the church but going to go with it despite having to juggle young kids and disapproving looks from the herself and the in laws (all Liverpool fans!).
Ya can get married anytime but there is only one Derby!

cant see us not winning this game tomorrow. we will have too much pace and power going forward (few years since i said that about United). City will have 60% of the ball, we will win 2-0

Bit of good news for United and Mourinho ahead of the derby. Says he's got a fully fit squad, including Mkhitaryan and Shaw.

I was there in the family section behind the goal, my Dad who was in his mid 60s at the time watched me as I was carried 2 rows forward in the celebrations! Absolute crazy.

    Daley Blind in 2016/17:

    100% tackles won
    100% aerial duels won
    17 clearances
    7 interceptions
    0 fouls

    Perfection.

    Blind's undroppable atm.

    :eek::eek: Don't diss Daley's locks!

    You're forgetting he's sooo slow.

In all seriousness, he is a great passer of the ball and has great positional sense. He is cool, calm and collected on the ball.

I'd still prefer to see Smalling in there. I know that Blind has barely put a foot wrong since he's gone into CB and I know that everyone loves him but Smalling imo is the superior CB and I think when paired with Bailly they'll be immense.

That said, for now I'm not moaning about Blind and Bailly given how well they've done.
