Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Rooney, Lingard, Fellani and Micky Ryan all need to be off. They are slow, cumbersome on the ball and lacking both imagination and confidence. Also, Ibra is a complete passenger and against top teams that hands a massive advantage to the opponent.

Might be hard with only 3 subs ;)

Fellaini has been head and shoulders above any other Utd player. Score would be worse only for him!!

Lingard, Rooney, mkh, to be subbed in that order. Possibly Mkhit before Rooney.

Ibra just saved his skin with that finish.

We needed that so much. Good ball in by Rooney, involved in yet another goal for us.

    Grasping...

    Well take the luck!

If we can go in at 2-1 at half time and sort it out with some subs hopefully we'll give ourselves a chance

    Insane finish from Ibra.

A bit like Cantonas goal in the 96 cup final v Liverpool!

Lingard has been going down so softly. Surely he will be subbed soon. I like him but he is completely out of the game.

Rooney created 2 chances at the end there that Ibrahimovich should have buried.

The team finally seems to be waking up. Hopefully come out in the second half to try and get something out of it.

Very shaky finish to the half from City. Let's hope Jose makes the right changes now.

He's made some poor mistakes today, most have, but I do like the link being made between himself and Zlatan. Seems to always be looking to get Zlatan the ball when he gets it.

lingard off at half time, probably the worst 45 mins of his life... Martial on please

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,369 ✭✭✭Rossi IRL

    Id keep Rooney on.

    Take off Blind and Lingard.

Id give Miki 20 mins and then unleash Rashers.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,193 ✭✭✭✭Kerrydude1981

For all Citys great play they were hanging on at half time,

Lingard to the right and Martial on for Mick?

I'd switch Martial & Rashers for Miki & Lingard pronto.

Blind, Lingard and Mkhitaryan couldn't complain if subbed. While others aren't being amazing, they can blame the two wingers for a massive chunk of the problems...

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,979 ✭✭✭BenK

Interesting 2nd half in store. United can hardly be as bad again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,019 ✭✭✭✭adox

Blessed to be only one down. Would bite your hand off for a point now.

I've been hugely impressed by City. So precise with their passing and aggressive pressing of the ball when they don't have it.

Utd have been sloppy, very sloppy and just haven't applied themselves as well as City. Both wide players have been awful and Blind has been awful at CB.

De Bruyne in that pocket is finding space time and time again. Tactically Pepe is on top on this one too.

At least one of the wide players have to be hooked at half time. I'd probably take Lingard off purely because he has barely had a kick.

Whatever the result ends up today, some serious issues are being flagged whe trying to compete at this level and hopefully they are addressed.

Mkhitryan was so bad that he honestly can't complain if he's not in the match day squad going forward.

I'll be furious if he's not subbed.

Neither of our two wide players have offered any cover in defence. This has been a massive part of our problem today. No wonder de bruyne has had a field day.

lingard was truly truly shocking. One of the worst halves of football I've seen from a Utd player. Mkhytarian was marginally better than him but both need to be hauled off. The game has overwhelmed them.

This is why the likes of Valencia should never be first choice for utd. He is so dodgy back there.

I dont blame him, he's not a RB

What are you smoking?? Valencia has been our best player

I'd have Rashford on before Martial. The form Martials been in you could see him being swallowed up this game.

Either wide player could be hooked tbh and I wouldn't complain.

A tough 45 minutes coming up I fear.

+1 Think Val has done well - with very little help defensively tbh.

    Not a chance. Fell has.

There's a reason why most of the City play is coming down Val's side because he's disaster defensively.

He has left big holes back there and City are taking advantage of it

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,979 ✭✭✭BenK

City played with far more cohesion and purpose in the 1st half. United players don't seem to know whether they should press or drop off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,370 ✭✭✭✭Son Of A Vidic

Lingard and Mkitaryan off at half time for me. Mkitaryan's refusal to chase his man to City's corner flag is not acceptable and then we had the City goal shortly afterwards. There could have been a throw in down the other end if Mkitaryan had pressured his man. He also seems to be pulling out from the physical challenge, so he needs to grow a pair quick time if he wants to be a starter in the PL. Lindgard seems to be a bag of nerves and most of the team were incredibly sloppy in possession. Hopefully Jose can now make the changes and put City on the ropes.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,347 ✭✭✭Quandary

if the game goes as badly in the 2nd half I'd be surprised to see us finish with 11 on the field.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,219 ✭✭✭✭Pro. F

Amazingly nervous display. Lingard and Ibra probably the worst, but so many misplaced passes from so many players and the defensive shape is weak too. I hope Jose can get their heads right, or maybe just the players themselves. Because you'd have to think subs alone won't fix this.

The last few minutes were a bit more encouraging, so hopefully that's a good sign.

Our two centre halves and lingard Rooney and Mickey have been woeful.
City team with 5km more running done says it all. More workrate and pressure

dont know why lingard started to be honest, rashford in form as well

    herrera and rashford on

    Two changes at half time

    Lets go Ander and Rashers

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,719 ✭✭✭JaMarcusHustle

55 seconds gone and Rashford has done more than Lingard and Mkhitaryan combined.

    He's a special player.
