Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Jaysus I've been pleasantly surprised at Zlatan, his age being my main concern before he came in.

We have him for a season, maybe two. I'd expect him to start most league games this season. He's taken to the premier league like a duck to water.

Honestly think the team would so much better if Rooney and zlatan were dropped.

Two of them have been poor

Would fear playing carrick against a team with lots of pace like Leicester

It certainly would be interesting to see. Rashford and Martial up front together would be a nightmare for defenders.

Carrick Herrera and Pogba in midfield on Saturday please.

Zlatan occupies the centre-backs and helps a Rashford get space. He also has great touch to release him (or whoever). Need a player like that in the team.

He is also a physical freak that causes havoc when balls are crossed well.

Jose looks depressed, absolutely no charisma at all. An interviewers nightmare.

I'd be very surprised if Fellaini doesn't start on Saturday.

Maybe disappointed that Rooney showed no form?

It was a fcuk you to the press. I'm not saying anything because when I do my words get twisted and used against me.

Just to be clear. I meant just the half hour or so he got tonight. He's been impressive overall.

Yeah he didn't look particularly interested in the game when he came on to be fair.

I was more responding to those were saying that Rooney and Ibra should be dropped.

I'm sure if it was anyone but Rooney that miscontrolled that you wouldn't be describing it as atrocious, lazy and pathetic.

Are you going to defend Rooney's performance again? He was atrocious against league 2 side. If any player miscontrolled then there is good chance that's a lapse in concentration, but when a player who played so poor for nearly 12-18 months, who stunk up the place against league 2 side all game you have to think it's lack of ability.

Plus the constant idiotic questions from the post match interviewers.

I heard him asking the "did you think it was a penalty?" question in an Eric Idle voice. Nudge nudge, wink wink, was it a peno? was it a peno? :pac:

Maybe because he made an innocuous comment last Sunday after the game and it's been selling papers ever since.

What I saw when Rashford chased down the ball for the third goal....

You'd swear carrick just put on that performance against city and not Northampton the way sky and people on Twitter are reacting.

I thought it was obvious that carrick would control the entire game

    Ahh well city

Great stuff. An early chance for revenge and a team you will probably have to beat anyway if you're going to win it.

    Against Northampton.
He played really well against them but I wouldn't be using this game as a yardstick to who to pick at the weekend.

I'd have Herrera in the team on Saturday but that's not just based on tonight's performance.

He won't be giving the same time and space against Leicester. He struggled all last season when closed down and defensively was poor as well. I just don't think he has the legs against the better premier league teams anymore

He really wasn't. Like this is just completely untrue. I get that people think he isn't good enough, or that the team would be better off with different players in his position, but the criticism is going so far past that.

  • Registered Users Posts: 33,755 ✭✭✭✭RobertKK

Jose said what he wanted to say on MUTV, had a go at the 'football Einsteins' who did the thread on this forum who called him a busted flush after one bad week, saying they have chosen to write off his 16 year career in management.
He had praise for the players and totally different to the Sky Sports interview.

The City draw is a real kick in the nads for Jose.

  • Delighted with that draw. Plot revenge please

He was the worst player on the pitch and his competition was Rojo. We are not even talking about decent opponents, not even Championship club, 3rd tier club.

He ran a lot that's the only positive thing to say about Rooney today. Whatever it is he shows up for the ball.

Rooney is stealing a living at this point. Absolute woeful effort tonight.
