I am interested in a night time or weekend course in Furniture making/designing or advanced woodwork.
I work in Blackrock, live in Sandymount, but am willing to travel.
    Would really appreciate any advice.
    Thank you

PS - I am a little weary that the 10 week courses some 'further education' colleges provide may be a little basic, but would appreciate any advice)

    Newpark have Antique Furniture Restoration:

St. Colmcille's in Knocklyon have Woodworking and Furniture making

There are quite a few others.
Generally, night classes are meant as hobby classes, so check in advance if they are advanced enough for you.

The Guide to Night Classes in the local ETB colleges should be available from all libraries now.
    http://www.nightcourses.com/ may also help.

Thank you, but the furniture restoration, is a little to specific,
I saw a course in St Johns in Cork, "Furniture Making & Restoration Skills L5". I havent found anything similiar, 22weeks one night a week.

Would love something similar. or even if there was a gathering or workshops like there was in Dublin, "Seomra Spraoi".

(sorry I am not allowed to attach links)

That sounds like a partial FETAC Level 5 course rather than a hobby course.

The associated full FETAC course is done in Dun Laoghaire, but it's a full time day course.

    Would a men's shed suit?

Your local library will have a list of local night courses and there might be something suitable.

The Men's Sheds are groups of men around the country who do woodwork and other activities. They might not be your cup of tea, but you may well get in touch with someone who will know exactly where to look for the type of course you would like.
