Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Radio silence on Clyne's pass.

Why can't Liverpool play well from the start. Very strange.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,932 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

This is actually horrendous. We shouldn't be passing it around the back at all, Klavan clearly isn't up for it.

    Horrific opening 5 minutes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,983 ✭✭✭✭NukaCola

Don't worry lads, it'll be grand, it'll all turn out well in the end.

    And if it doesn't, fcuk.

Liverpool starting like they did against Arsenal, asleep and sloppy

Typical game early in the season away to a promoted side. Burnley full of beans and really up for it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,983 ✭✭✭✭NukaCola

Should be a yellow for Gray for roaring at the linesman

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,798 ✭✭✭✭DrumSteve

    Klavan looking solid

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,414 ✭✭✭Lord Trollington

I've seen enough to know that Milner is not an option at LB

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,248 ✭✭✭✭BoJack Horseman

So, everyone can now see that Pool will do everything possible to build passing moves from the 18yd line.

Therefore Burnley are obviously just applying pressure high up until the play breaks down.

Was cooking up some grub and turned the game on to see Burnley celebrating. Wonderful...

Liverpool haven't got going at all so far. Plenty of question marks in defence again.

    7 minutes? FFS.

He's still has to adapt to the position.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,308 ✭✭✭Pyjamarama

Coutinho and Sturridge deciding early they're gonna take on shots that can never go in... sigh...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,546 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

Plenty of time. Need to get hold of the ball, quieten them down, and play a bit. No need for panic.

We should not be in a situation where a 30 year old who never plays LB being relied on as a starter....

There'll be no ACLs left with all the knee jerking in this thread.

Can Milner use his left leg?

Can't ever recall him crossing or shooting with his left, said that when the milner at LB rumours started.

Still think once we get a foot in the game we will have too much for them

Yes. Is he suddenly at 30 going to develop into a left back . He's not a defender nor is he left footed.

At this level it's not acceptable for me to play a makshift LB when we have money to spend

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,932 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Ref's gonna crack under this crowd soon.

    Firmino having a stinker.....

Spend on who? He's better than Moreno, and just because they have money does not mean that you instantly get a quality left back. I'm sure we'll get one before the window is over.

    What a Liverpool corner

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,081 ✭✭✭Fromvert

Buy a ****ing LB, Milner is terrified of his left foot

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,384 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Coutinho decided that he's shooting from everywhere today.

Liverpool could use that old excuse that the players couldn't see each other because of the colour of the jerseys.

Liverpool player nearly the same colour as the pitch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,360 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

    Coutinho likes shooting.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,477 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

Pitch doesn't seem slick at all, which could well be deliberate from Burnley. Liverpool haven't adapted though. Our passes have no zip in them at all yet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,983 ✭✭✭✭NukaCola

    Burnley love the long ball

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,546 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

Liverpool apparently getting a little bit of their own medicine according to Carragher at least 4 times now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,932 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

We invite pressure to lure them out, but then can't fcuking play through it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Someone needs to pull Carragher back from the mic, he'll be popping his 'p's any minute.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,404 ✭✭✭✭Vicxas

    Started nervous AF again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,477 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

I often think Sturridge's first thought is, "will this look class?", rather than, "Is this effective?".

Great when he's on form, but when he's rusty like today, and getting his fitness and touch back, its not so great.

Isn't Sturridge the lone striker then what the hell is he doing playing most of the game at the halfway line.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,983 ✭✭✭✭NukaCola

    This is brutal football

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,932 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

    Desperate

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,308 ✭✭✭Pyjamarama

Just like the first half last weekend the passing is too slow. Too many touches makes it easy to press.

Lads you need to have patience. They're not going to score with every move, not every pass is going to come off and Burnley are hard to break down.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,983 ✭✭✭✭NukaCola

    Final ball is awful

Everything looks so slow, Lallana so laid back he actually fell over. Sturridge dropping deep makes no sense, I'd put Origin on at HT to run them around a little.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,477 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

Heaton is glad he's wearing gloves. Stinger from Lallana.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,404 ✭✭✭✭Vicxas

Is anyone else watching Sturridge and asking themselves "why is he there!?"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,928 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Sturridge's pace is gone for good.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,932 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Thought Sturridge had the pace there
