Was about to post the exact same thing. He moves and plays in rigid lines, and it works well with his athleticism when pushed higher up, but as a DM... Its far from Alonso or Mascherano he is, that's for sure.

He did fine in the second half last sunday. He's no Alonso and never will be we just need him to move the ball quicker. He can do that.

Yep, two years ago he'd have scored from that pass. Hard to say he can be a starter from here on.

Your prejudice against Sturridge is ridiculous.

Also, think the TV angle looked very different to the reality in the incident that you are concluding that his pace is gone.

Two, sometimes three touches just to get the ball under control. About as far from what you'd ideally want in that position but Klopp has a lot of quirks. Lallana, Wijnaldum aren't CM's either.

Milner at leftback is painful. So one footed and no pace at all. Like the game goes into slow motion when he's on the ball down there. Not his fault like.

Milner can't play left back, Sturridge has lost his pace, we can't break down teams...all based on 30 mins of football. Remember this used to be a decent place to read reasoned opinions and analysis.
