Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Lads you need to have patience. They're not going to score with every move, not every pass is going to come off and Burnley are hard to break down.

Ah I know, its just the final ball thats letting us down......its frustrating when the wrong option is being taken.....

Sturridge has no sprint left in him. That was a perfect ball for him.

Sturridge's pace is gone for good.

Yeah, and we've been saying it for a while. He definitely would have made that before.

Didn't even stretch for it, or anything, so I'd wonder how much is a mental thing as well.

    Really looked leggy there.
Running, but no burst of pace.

    Sturridge has no pace.....

Klopp building a team of pace and power has no place for Sturridge now his pace is gone.

Henderson destroys my head as a CM.

Was about to post the exact same thing. He moves and plays in rigid lines, and it works well with his athleticism when pushed higher up, but as a DM... Its far from Alonso or Mascherano he is, that's for sure.

Marney's had a few fouls now

He did fine in the second half last sunday. He's no Alonso and never will be we just need him to move the ball quicker. He can do that.

He's lucky not to be booked.

Yep, two years ago he'd have scored from that pass. Hard to say he can be a starter from here on.

Absolute rubbish. He's a great finisher and one of our best players.

Your prejudice against Sturridge is ridiculous.

Also, think the TV angle looked very different to the reality in the incident that you are concluding that his pace is gone.

Two, sometimes three touches just to get the ball under control. About as far from what you'd ideally want in that position but Klopp has a lot of quirks. Lallana, Wijnaldum aren't CM's either.

Milner at leftback is painful. So one footed and no pace at all. Like the game goes into slow motion when he's on the ball down there. Not his fault like.

Burnley's fans are up there with Stoke's in terms of being a pain in my hole.

    unlucky from studge...

Origi and Can need to come on for Sturridge and Henderson.

    Spot on.

If you can't control the ball first time, you can't set any sort of tempo.

    missing Mané big time...

Mane was the only player driving the team last week,we're missing that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 677 ✭✭✭FernandoTorres

Milner can't play left back, Sturridge has lost his pace, we can't break down teams...all based on 30 mins of football. Remember this used to be a decent place to read reasoned opinions and analysis.

Good passing, shame about the final delivery

Is it still gerrards fault or can we now just admit he's not that good

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,942 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Milner is too obvious without a left foot

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,248 ✭✭✭✭BoJack Horseman

    F*ck this short corner wankery

    Lovren has been brilliant.

Coutinho's radar is well off today.

Lovren turns his back on the shot too

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,308 ✭✭✭Pyjamarama

You can only laugh... so bad... so bad... Moreno again... oh wait...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,387 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Could see that coming. Burnley were waiting for the counter attack chance to use Gray's pace.

Defenders stand off too much instead of tackling. Very frustrating.

Now we know why Klavan was so cheap

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Carragher is talking rubbish, it was the bounce of the ball that brought it back to Burnley.

    Still woeful stuff, completely abject

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,363 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

    Sturridge embarrassing.

    Klavan weak.

Mignolet once again incapable of making a save you wouldn't expect him to make.

FFS Moreno out of position again :)

    This weekend keeps getting better

Shocking defending right from the moment Sturridge failed to control

Shocking stuff. Sturridge playing like a zombie, just constantly giving the ball away.
