Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Not getting the rub of the green, I see no more than that.
To dominate them like we did and to be 2-0 down is far from a true reflection.
The second was lucky pinball break. Hopefully we get what we deserve in second half as we did not in the first.

    Ah now...

Two ****e teams playing but was is putting a better shift in

Burnley are awful alright......worst performance from us in a while also....

Largely the same problems as pre-season for Liverpool.

Absolutely no defensive instinct in midfield in front of the centre halves, Wijnaldum in central midfield is mad. Whoever thought Milner is an option at left back is also mad. You have to have a left back who is comfortable on their left foot, it's a fundamental requirement.

Moreno in at LB and even a quarter fit Lucas would improve the midfield

Klaven was good, unlucky that tackle.
Burnleys half. We have dominated 20%-80%

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,081 ✭✭✭Fromvert

Heaton hasn't had to make a save that wasn't rolling slowly to him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,497 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

It's the type of game where you don't know whether to sub off the forwards or the defenders, everyone is shîte. Coutinho's shown a bit of go but wasting it with potshots from difficult positions. If Sturridge is still out there in the second half, the focus has to be on creating good chances for him, because taking them is the one thing he has left as a footballer.

2-2 draw best case scenario from here, but I wouldn't count on it.

Football can throw up games like this where class fails to show over 90 mins.

What does it matter? You send out a team without any defensive protection in midfield and get played through then you can have five keepers and it still wouldn't matter.

Mignolet isn't to blame for any of this.

He's been rubbish, instrumental in both goals

What has been good about this performance. Passing the ball around and creating **** all chances isn't showing 'class' btw

Of course......Mané is a big loss but I'd have played Origi in his absence.....we are a different team with a bit of speed up top.....Sturridge doesn't have it and when Coutinho and Firmino are ineffective it will mean 0 goals....

Hard second half ahead. Need to come out firing

Not a fan of him at all as my posting history will show but peoples search for a scapegoat is as strong as ever.....The system with the players selected is failing hard.....need a change..

    We're playing against 2 blocks of 4
    No space in behind
We need a break is all
All we can do is keep probing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,983 ✭✭✭✭NukaCola

    Danny not at it today

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,567 ✭✭✭Irish_rat

    Predictable as you like:

Henderson likes to delicately pass the ball but doesn't have enough pace to reach the intended target.

Milner is not allowed to use his left leg.

    Sturridge can't sprint.

Coutinho having a stinker. Firminho has barely had a touch of the ball.

    Lallana is huffing and puffing.

Liverpool still have a hopeless defense

Nothing different from last season so

Disappointed to see Sturridge out for the second half. Either bring on someone else in midfield to strengthen there or get Origi on.

There are probably three people in the team today who know how to make a tackle

Actualy agree its hard to break down two banks of four sitting this deep

Was a brilliant ball... honestly I don't know what Danny is doing today. His positioning has been shocking.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,105 ✭✭✭mada999

get him off and get Origi on... need someone who can head in a ball from a cross as that what they seem to be doing at the moment... that and taking pot shots from everywhere..

Nobody will attack a header. They all just stand there waiting for it to land on their head.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,983 ✭✭✭✭NukaCola

    Get Sturridge off.....offered nothing today....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,363 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

This is all about lack of pace.

How Origi isn't on yet is beyond me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,349 ✭✭✭✭super_furry

Got to love how they keep going wide to cross the ball into the four short-arses Liverpool have in the box.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,775 ✭✭✭✭Slattsy

    Klopp clueless

Is it just me but do Liverpool often face teams like Burnley playing out of their skin and defending like crazy. Seems to happen a lot.

Exactly. There's no excuses there today. Nobody can put this down to Mignolet, the absent Moreno or the bloody ref.

This is all down to a lack of protection in the CM area and even on here yesterday a few people mentioned it and got laughed at.

If you attack against us you score. Ya cant rely on scoring 3, 4, 5 goals every game to win matches.
Even if we win this the warning signs are there. 5 goals conceded in 135 mins.

Sturridge looks so unfit. Can't fathom why he's still out there.

Sturridge needs to come off. Has done sweet FA all match

Henderson is a main problem! We NEED a commanding midfielder, sell Henderson. Then concentrate on a left back and centre half

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,371 ✭✭✭✭Liam O

Accepting the risk of him popping one in the top corner, I always find it humourous when Coutinho blasts his 10th shot of the day over the bar.

the premierleague is full of these teams, you need horses for courses and you need a few goals from corners etc to get you out of trouble...unfortunately we dont seem to be score from too many corners....
