Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Filter for Arsenal this year and last

Or filter all seasons and you will find that Kos is up near the top for the most pens conceded

    Lucky there.

We got lucky there. Thankfully ref maintained his incompetence in not giving a peno.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,940 ✭✭✭omega man

    Save!

Ref would have given that peno had he not given the soft one earlier.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52,428 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

Why does Ramsey always put the ball behind the man who's running instead of in front of him?

Thats a save where a keeper gets points for his team by Cech

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,521 ✭✭✭✭mansize

Ospina makes those kind of saves too tbf

Was just thinking the same thing. That's a lack of confidence thing for me.

Great goal, I thought Giroud had messed that up when he went to his right

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52,428 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

A bit of gloss on an otherwise average performance.

Relief. I'm sure we all had visions of a late equaliser.

    Absolutely!!!

Your keeping up with the top group of teams in the league and pulling away from the next group (Spurs / ManUtd). Might not have been a super performance in all ways but its a good 3 points

    3-1 get in (cashed out)

The best thing about today was winning......with Gabriel at RB!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,521 ✭✭✭✭mansize

Keeps it tight at the top

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,694 ✭✭✭emmetlego

I think Gab did well at RB, the 2 CH's were solid enough again, Kos is the boss and I think Nacho was decent again, despite silly in box moments!

In the middle, Ozil's moments of magic surpass the moments of perceived "laziness", and Ox was so hot and cold again. The 2 middle men were superb together I felt. Alexis is just Alexis, maddening moments of cheap possession loss, and then brilliance. Theo was OK today, took his goal well.

OG was decent when he came on, Ramsey was sh1t3 again, in my opinion.

I missed the start, what happened Debuchy?

He was grand. Not a lot going forward, but he's a centre half so that's understandable. Good defensively.

Bit more to our game today at least, still really dodgy defensively but some good attacking (in periods). Need to do that over 90 minutes though, which wasn't the case.

Very positive and upbeat Sanchez, talking about the team. Hmmm, that's a change in his tone. Maybe he will sign that extension!

    Worst Arsenal Player today: Ramsey
    Best: Alexis

It's a bit harsh to call Ramsey the worst player after 20 minutes of play, he even set Giroud up for a few shots.

Walcott wasn't great but he scored the goal, I think Ox was better in play today.

Hard to pick a bad player on the team today.
Some were average but Sanchez and Elneny stood out for me as being very good.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,483 ✭✭✭brianregan09

If someone came in with a decent bid for ramsey I'd let him off to be honest much like wilshire he just doesn't fit in the team for me

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,694 ✭✭✭emmetlego

Has to be Xhaka and Elneny with what is currently fit in the middle for the moment. Really impressed with the 2 of them today. Elneny works like a dog and Xhaka's passing from deep has offered sublime moments. He's no Santi... Yet!

There have been long periods where we were on good runs and he was a key component. He's hardworking and loyal to the club. I really can't see any reason to get rid of him.

Best: Alexis, on his day, he's unbeatable. Closely followed by Ozil/Elneny
Worst: Ramsey. I know it was only 20 minutes, but he just slowed everything down, took the fluidity out of moves and there was a noticeable dip in momentum when he came in.

I see what you mean Basil, but hardworking and loyal, while admirable traits, are not enough to be a top class MF player in the PL. I used to love Aaron, but his form has been so poor for so long now. We need to be more clinical when dealing with our staff, if we want success that is!

Yeah, but what is his role? I think he needs to score more goals, but goals aren't expected from any of our other central midfielders. I just don't know where Arsene sees him playing long term.

I still think he's a good player to have in the squad.

Really just don't care anymore how much alexis wants arsenal need to give him it and get him to sign a new deal, as the poster above said I like Ramsey and on his day he is quality but he's far too inconsistent but tbf calling him the worst today was harsh considering the time he was on the field,if a good offer came in and that money went towards buying someone else I wouldn't hesitate to let him go and the same goes for Walcott and Wilshire. Cazorla is are best and most consistent player after Sanchez and we need him back ASAP. If we are to win anything this year a back up rb is needed jenkinson and debuchy are both poor I don't know what we're going to do if Sanchez gets injured *when he gets injured because Giroud is an impact sub and nothing more I love the man but he's not going to lead the line for you. Positive note 3 points today and still well in the running maybe things will improve more when we're bet out of the champions league in the last 16 by more then likely Barcelona realistically il take that if it helps us climb up the table and out of 4th
