Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm happy enough with that team, the only worry I have is the obvious aerial threat of Lukaku as Gabriel and Koscielny aren't the strongest in the air. Apart from that we should be too strong for them providing that the team are on it from the get go.

Hopefully Kos keeps Lukaku in his pocket like the rest tonight :D:D

I hope i'm wrong but i've got a bad feeling about tonight's match.
    Don't know what's causing it.
Hopefully my gut instinct is totally wrong.

Everton away last season was a draw, would be great to better that tonight

"Arsenal haven't lost in the 20 games Ozil and Kos have played in." We also have to listen to an awful commentary team. 3 points please lads, despite all of the curses being thrown our way!

Have to press these higher up the field. Giving them far too much time on the ball and there growing in confidence

If Everton take the lead here they'll be 1-0 up .

Everton have 2 banks of 4 when defending, and the only player we have among them 8 players is Sanchez. We'll get nothing out of this game if we continue to play like this.

    McManaman

If they keep giving it back to Arsenal they will score more goals, can't be doing it

    its 0-0

    Sanchez!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,349 ✭✭✭✭super_furry

Talk about self-inflicted. It could only have been worse if he got a red card for that foul.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,500 ✭✭✭Drexel

Everything going right for Sanchez lately!

    One nil

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,521 ✭✭✭✭mansize

No nonsense from the Chilean! Just smash it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,489 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

    Williams very poor
Everton needed to go behind to win this
    They should play now

Not a pretty goal, but it was coming. Everton could drag us down a bit here, need to get another before the half IMO. Standard has been poor so far.

    Fu2k... Kos limping badly!

Poor goal to concede, was coming in fairness

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,694 ✭✭✭emmetlego

That's p1ss poor defending, Everton deserve that tbf

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,117 ✭✭✭✭Quazzie

Terrible defending. Two centre backs right under it, and neither of them picked up Seamy

No idea why teams don't just bombard us with crosses. We're sitting ducks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,690 ✭✭✭✭Skylinehead

They deserved that, we've been terrible since Sanchez scored. Defenders are way too slow on the ball, and Chamberlain/Walcott are invisible.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,817 ✭✭✭marvin80

A big battle on our hands now

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,678 ✭✭✭Marcus Antonius

Well that was coming. Bloody awful defending though. Theo putting in a great challenge for the cross and no sign of Hector

Started great then just sat back.

Two lads gettin overrun in the middle since we scored, getting bullied

Some attempt to close down there by Walcott. Him and Ox have been offering nothing. Coq and Xhaka very poor too.

    Still have a bad feeling.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,117 ✭✭✭✭Quazzie

Xhaka, Chamberlain, and Theo having poor games for me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,435 ✭✭✭wandatowell

    That's a sh1tty goal to concede.

    Avoidable .

    Ox and theo........anybody spotted them?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,748 ✭✭✭✭AdamD

Horrible standard of football from both sides

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,678 ✭✭✭Marcus Antonius

Anybody see what happened that resulted in the bit of a shoving at the end of the half? Ozil was fuming.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,521 ✭✭✭✭mansize

    Ox and theo- sling them

    Yep.
Iwobi and Giroud on for them. Move Sanchez out wide.

Agree, but there's more to it than that. We were pushing early on against a team sitting back, and then when we scored, we sat back, inviting them on. Let's hope that Wenger can turn them back on again, like he has at half time several times this season. Not sure Coq and Xhaka are the middle 2 for a team pressing us high. I'd have Elneny in for Coq in the 2nd half

    Positives:
Coq's passing in around Everton's box was class, never seen that side of him before.
Hard to see them press that hard now for the rest of the game, we'll get at least one more you feel.
One defensive glitch aside (the goal) we've been quite solid.

    Negatives:
One big one, our change of tac after we scored. Poor choice. Looked like we wanted to hit them on the break. Our game of full court press was working, why change??

Anyway, we can still take this by the scruff, if AW get's the bit between the teeth again! COYG

We've come from behind what, 6 times this season?

I'm still hopeful. They can get this job done, far from over yet.

What worries me is that we started well and when we scored we just went into our shell and stopped playing football. I don't remember our wingers being on the ball at all yet and we have no out ball. We need Giroud on.

Giroud and Iwobi warming up - great having good options off the bench

    Özil should have scored

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,678 ✭✭✭Marcus Antonius

Come on Wenger make a few changes please. Lucky Barkley didn't score for Everton there a minute ago.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,500 ✭✭✭Drexel

Giraud on for Walcott. Done nothing all night. Or the Ox.
