Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It's not a waste of his talents if we're not on the ball, what are his skills as a playmaker gonna contribute when we're the ones pegged back or being caught on the break?

I agree with Tayto in that everyone should be chipping in with the defensive work, Giroud should often be our furthest man forward but that doesn't stop him from getting stuck in or defending corners, no reason Mesut can't contribute to the defence too.

Giroud is a big guy and uses his phyicality well.

Özil is a slip of a thing, more likely to get injured

    Risk assessment.

Ozil is 6 foot, that's taller than Mustafi, I can't agree that he shouldn't be helping us defend a bit more. Alexis isn't the biggest of players and he has no problem defending.

You don't have to be big or very strong to close down a defender or a keeper and prevent him passing the ball forward. You can put enough pressure on him that he has to kick the ball forward more in hope than expectation.

Keane and Viera both gave Pires a pass in "going missing" as he was so creative

Özil is in the same bracket imho

Your right but the players we have now we can't have him going missing, the rest aren't the same quality to make up the shortfall to carry a passenger.
    And Keane??

both are doable but I would prefer city personally.

I fly out of city twice a week. I am never at the airport earlier than 40 minutes before my flight and have always made the flight. I actually flew out of their this morning on a 6.35 flight and got to the airport at 6.05, checked in bags and still had loads of time. Security is a doddle as long as you don't forget liquid or laptops etc in your bag. Would take about 45 minutes in a cab.
Heathrow also doable but it is an hour 15 on the tube from Finsbury park approximately.

But the issue you have is getting a taxi after the match unless you have one booked or queueing to get on the tube.
    Thanks Pudders much appreciated.

We would be getting the tube, and trying our very best to get their as quick as possible after final whistle.

Le boss doesn't seem to know that Ozil is permitted to slip out to the wing and hibernate there.

You could even slip out a few mins early

Özil is capable of brilliance. He has won games for us. The trouble is he goes missing in too many games. If he was more consistent we would be right up there at the top of the league. IMO we are now where we have been for a good few years, looking at a top four place, and that is all.

He's had some stick, but only Eden Hazard has won the ball back more than @MesutOzil1088 in the final third

    ➡️ arsn.al/OaCqQW

    Well facts are great

We've missed his workrate hugely. He brings alot of players into play whether they like it or not and young Iwobi was benefiting greatly from his presence.

Anyway, life is about to get very busy for a lot of us, so just want to wish all you gooners out there a very happy Christmas and new year. We have different viewpoints on a lot of things, but 'tis the season and all that.

Hopefully we'll get something to celebrate a bit more worthy of bubbly than St. Totteringham day in 2017!!! COYG

Yes, in the spirit of Goodwill and all that wishing you all a very Merry Christmas, a triffic Boxing day when Arsenal stuff the Albion, and a great New Year where I see Arsenal knock Bayern out of the Champions League :P

    A girl can dream...

    Happy Christmas Gooners

Wrt Burnley game. I'm going with my young lad.

I booked return flight from gatwick at 19.35 and now I'm not sure I'll have enough time. The match kicks off on Sunday 22 Jan at 1415.

I'll be checked in and won't have any bags so I think getting to LGW by 1830 should be time enough.

Getting away from the ground might be the tough part. Doable?

This is so annoying. I'm going to the munster game and wanted to watch us in the pub before. The TV rights thing for UK Ireland is terrible. I'm not watching it hunched over my phone in the pub.

Cech has hardly being setting the Wotld alight recently. I think Ospina should start today.

Perez deserves to play too. Hopefully he will get in the starting line up for one of the Christmas fixtures.

I think Xhaka is not performing and should go back to the bench. Ramsey to replace him.

    Yeah, big change.

Giroud hopefully to give Wenger something to think about.

I reckon the team with Giroud is better for particular matches. Perhaps not this one. More like the last two.

How to get around the high press without Santi??? Bomb it up to Olivier!!

80/20 possession so far, pressing well, few half chances but keeper remains untested.
