Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Poor half. Poor efforts from our forwards not testing the keeper at all. Dominating the game possession wise but that's it!

    Just checked score 0-0 :groan:

Anyone fancy trying a cross into the box maybe?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,264 ✭✭✭✭jester77

They was a painful half to watch, they are so static around the box, just pinging the ball around going nowhere. West Bromwich look more like scoring when they go down our end.

Poor stuff so far. Dominating possesion but don't look threatening at all going forward

Just woke up, checked football scores. Saw it was 0-0. Hit refresh, goal Giroud.

    Have they played poorly?

The last few minutes was very telling there, the game was far too open after the goal. Any sensible team would have played keep ball, not arsenal.

Lucas and Ramsey should be starting over Iwobi and Coquelin, especially in games like this.

    Just saw the lineups.

How was Perez for the time he was on? What about Ramsey? Why did Gibbs come off? Playing poorly or injury? What side was Sanchez?

Sanchez mostly on the left, gibbs off with a knock after going in late on Jacob. Perez wasn't great. good finish by OG with a good ball in from MO. 76% posession tells its own story...we weren't good in their final third

No changes today, delighted they got the win. Would be a crime if they didn't though in fairness!

Should have had 3/4 goals there today, made me very uneasy!!! Take the win and move on. As was already said, poor in final 1/4 of pitch where it counts but WBA set up with 2 lines of 5 and 4. Very hard to break down.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,382 ✭✭✭✭greendom

WBA defended very deep and were very well organised. Iwobi continually cutting in played into their hands with Giroud desperate for a decent cross (which he finally got). No surprise that we scored from a cross and that we came very close from one of the few other crosses attempted.

No tbf Chelsea and Liverpool have only beaten them by the odd goal. That said though we don't put in enough crosses and Ozil is well able to cross

Yep, and Chelsea didn't really create a chance against them apart from the goal which was a gifted 1-on-1 that admittedly Costa finished brilliantly.

Chelsea really are performing like Leicester were last year. Seem to be getting a lot of goals for the amount of shots they take.

Today we had 26 shots, with 11 on target, and only managed one goal. They had 14 shots, 5 on target, and 3 goals.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,694 ✭✭✭emmetlego

It was important to get that win today. A bit of stability resumed after the last 2 games. Just saw the goal again there. Really was a fine finish from Giroud! There was good intensity today too, something sadly lacking V Toffees and City.
