Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Welcome to modern football.

There is plenty of players in modern football that are not like Payet. He is one such extreme case. Yes there is plenty more. I could guarantee the likes of Simeone wouldnt tolerate Payet though and from what i hear, Wenger or any of the other big clubs didnt move for Payet for good reason.

He gets paid and refuses to play. He should be sacked end of.

Looks like the Chinese curse is happening to Chelsea and Costa. Could this derail their season and open up the title again?

Players now more than ever follow where the money is and to a lesser extent the location and lifestyle of the club. It's not even about winning trophies anymore imo.

As a youngster I couldn't see that as much, but as I've gotten older I realise it's a job for these guys and now I think if I were a footballer I'd follow the money too, why play somewhere for less if you're offered double or more your current wage for the same job?

To a greater extent, yes I'd agree. But there's chaps who still care about the club they play for and the trophies they win. Otherwise every other gimp would be off to China!

Just glad to see Chelsea getting a taste of their own medicine.

even though we could be the next target with Ozil and Sanchez

I guess if you've already got a Premier League medal sitting at home, it's easier to decide to take off for a massive payday.

Chelsea will probably sell him for £60m, then buy him back later for £40m.

Could all turn out to be a storm in a tea-cup. Arch villains just don't vanish like that, it would be too easy.

Ozil back today along with Cech,Koscienly and Sanchez.
We need to be putting this Swansea team away fairly handy, although the last time I said that was against Bournemouth:eek:

Gonna do a media blackout day till MOTD today.

If it's a rubbish one nil, with zero shots on target, I will happily take that.

But it shouldn't be. Come on Arsenal.

Interview with Giroud coming up on Football Focus.

    I still love Football Focus.

Always wary of playing Swansea we always seem to play **** against them, but hoping we put in a disciplined professional performance and put these away early

Is the match being televised on UK TV?

    No.

    Lineup below:

Decent enough side, should do the job. Would be nice to see Welbeck get another run.

Gabriel has been doing good for us this season. Hopefully it continues.

I thought we were at home today.

    2-1 Arsenal.

NBC Sports Network seems the best coverage that I can find, for anyone who has access to it.

    Nice save from Cech

I don't know how Nathan Dyer hasn't been booked, been countless fouls by him. The last one there on Monreal was a yellow on its own. Poor refereeing.

Goal Giroud, after he missed a chance about 10 seconds earlier.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,690 ✭✭✭✭Skylinehead

Was about to say how poor we've been but never mind :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,475 ✭✭✭KaiserGunner

Yes get in Giroud! Has to come off though by the looks of it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,057 ✭✭✭FixitFelix

Giroud again, needed that we've been terrible

Be interesting to see if Giroud staying on when he's supposedly injured is going to end up causing even more damage.

First player since Adebayor to score 5 goals in 5 matches for us.

I suppose Chamberlain means Sanchez up top, what does Perez have to do to get a place though?

Would have liked to see Perez on, he makes those intelligent runs that özil loves

Looked a dive to me. He kicked Koscielny's leg on the way down, Pires style. Very good call, wasn't obvious until the last replay.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,475 ✭✭✭KaiserGunner

Was a dive alright, was clear to see from the angle behind the goal. Good call by the ref I think.

    Phew!

    Giroud on for second half....weird

Swansea under major pressure. We really need another goal from all the chances we're getting.

    Lovely turn by Ramsey

All over. Had a nice bit of luck today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,161 ✭✭✭Royale with Cheese

I hope this isn't the team getting all their luck in one day. Two OG's and a penalty decision that Mike Dean would have been falling over himself to give.

Would be a handy 20 minutes now for Perez to come on for.
