Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Kick off at 2pm at the emirates .

Wenger and his former assistant Rice will manage some of the greatest players of Arsenal’s recent history.

    The full squad is below:

Jens Lehmann, David Seaman, Martin Keown, Marc Overmars, Ray Parlour, Emmanuel Petit, Pascal Cygan, Gilberto, Nigel Winterburn, Kolo Toure, Robert Pires, Freddie Ljungberg, Sylvain Wiltord, Anders Limpar, Gilles Grimandi and Kanu.

Capello will be at the helm of a similarly talented Milan Glorie squad:

Christian Abbiati, Dida, Cafu, Paolo Maldini, Demetrio Albertini, Alessandro Costacurta, Paolo Di Canio, Edgar Davids, Marcel Desailly, Daniele Massaro, Marco Simone, Angelo Carbone, Dario Simic, Giuseppe Favalli, Kakhaber Kaladze, Zvonimir Boban, Massimo Ambrosini, Stefano Eranio, Giuseppe Pancaro, Ibrahim Ba, Serginho and Christian Vieri.

As old as they are that Milan defense with maldini alone are unreal :D:D

Looking forward to seeing all our oldies up against it ( bar pascal cygan) :(

Imagine Inter Milan paid Lazio 43 million for Vieri way back in 99. massive money now not to mind that long ago, some serious players on view there

Some disappointing omissions, no Henry, Bergkamp or Wright?

With old lads involved it will probably look like its in slow motion. A bit like our over 50's 5-a-side.

More so Wenger's team lined out today (noughties)

George had some excellent attacking teams at Arsenal. That 88-92 team with Rocky, Thomas, Davis, the back 4, Limpar, Smith, Wright, Merse. Would batter many top sides. Tact changed from 92-95

    Our Goalscorers this year ...

    Kanu - 3
    Alexis - 1
    Ozil - 1
    Cazorla - 1
    Chamberlain - 1

My mancrush on Bobby remains as strong as ever.

Like a duck waddling down the touchline. Loved him, what an intelligent player he was.

Did anyone see this? Mesut being interviewed, talking about how he finally has the Germany number 10. When it is mentioned that the 10 jersey is free at arsenal, he says he will also have that (if he signs a contract extension :pac:).

I don't now how much is lost in translation, but still pretty interesting.

Still has the athleticism. Awful pity there isn't a full reunion of the invincibles.

Theo had the ball in the net for England tonight. It was ruled out for offside. They nicked it in the end with Lallana. 0-1

Last thing we need is another CM but yes he would have been ideal 2-3 years ago

In a heartbeat, still one of the finest CM's around when he decides to put a shift in.

Interestingly, Mustafi is down as being injured until Sunday. Lovely.

While I get that we can't expect much from Asano and he's probably expected to be one of those signings we buy for a million or two and sell for ten, he does seem to score a fair amount of goals.

On loan at Stuttgart now because he couldn't get a work permit. Started ahead of Okasaki for Japan the last day. Hopefully he gets a fair crack in Germany this season, too many players have gone out on loan only to be wasted on the bench

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,925 ✭✭✭pudzey101

Yeah never really rated many Japanese players ( bar Nakamura , Kagawa , Kamamoto ) and 1 or 2 others .

Hopefully Asano does get game time in Germany though he certainly has an eye for goal :)

So how are we fixed for Saturday against Southampton?
No injuries that i can see so we should have a full-strength team.
Looking forward to seeing the new lads in action.

I remember those goals very well. Felt like an age waiting for Bergy to get off the mark.
